Looking forward to seeing this great film in HD but only if the original ticker-tape credits/scene transitions are present as apparently they are unaccountably missing on the DVD editions

So can anyone who's purchased this BD let us know what the quality of the transfer is like for this great film ?? So far, there's one review on german amazon which has given it 5/5 stars

I ordered this and it shipped today. I don't see this film receiving the high-def treatment in the US. btw, that artwork looks good to me. Certainly worlds better than the awful photoshop job we got on DVD. Great film

Overall the picture quality is very good. I've noticed a few minor spots of dirt and/or print damage but mostly just for a blink of an eye.

I can't agree more. I love this film. I ordered this, but haven't received it. I noticed it says Region B, but I thought all Universal BDs were region free? Hope so, but I'll keep it for collectibility anyway, since it's one of my favorite films (and I LIKE the artwork! -- if you know the movie you'll know why).

As said earlier are the ticker tape messages throughout the film, in tact either burnt in or as a subtitle stream, and if so are they in English.
I got a film from Germany a few years ago, where they had digitally replaced all the newspaper headlines which appeared at various places in the film with German ones as they probably thought easier to do than subtitle and leave in English

I can confirm that all the text that appears in the film is in English.

Picture quality is on a par with WB Logan's Run release, not much effort has been made to clean up specks and debris, but it looks pretty natural and film like. It's a little soft in places, but overall it's a nice presentation, i would recommend it.

Just ordered this steelbook today for $17.96 after shipping since it dropped in price. It was $15.04 before shipping, which I felt was a good deal.

This is down to under €10 so I ordered it seeing as the US amaray appears to have problems.

Ordered it with the German Fear and Loathing re-release (amaray not that awful looking steelbook!) which has a new transfer which is identical (if not slightly better) to the Criterion release for about £18 for the two including the postage! Bargain!
