Raro Video U.S. have confirmed that they will release on Blu-ray legendary Italian director Sergio Corbucci's Johnny Oro a.k.a. Ringo and His Golden Gun (1966), starring Mark Damon, Valeria Fabrizi, Franco De Rosa, Ettore Manni, and Loris Loddi. The release is expected to arrive on the U.S. market later this year.

Synopsis: Johnny Oro a.k.a. Ringo and His Golden Pistol is a 1966 spaghetti western directed by Sergio Corbucci and starring Mark Damon. Renamed to cash in on the success of Duccio Tessari's Ringo movies, Ringo and His Golden Pistol focuses on bounty hunter Johnny Oro/Ringo who sees killing as purely business, in fact he won't draw his solid gold pistol unless he can profit from it and this will get him into trouble. He lets Juanito Perez live because there is nothing to gain from killing a man without a price on his head unlike his brothers who "Ringo" does kill. Perez swears revenge and faces off with "Ringo". Juanito has formed an alliance with the local Indian chief and is now prepared for an all out war against the peaceful town and sheriff that are protecting Ringo.

I just received the WAC dvd earlier this week, it's a very nice print. Wish they would give it a proper blu-ray release. I'd double dip.

On the Spaghetti Western Database, it says the German Blu-ray has no English audio or subs while the Amazon Germany listing says it has English audio. Also, it's the UNCUT version on the German Blu-ray. Who do we believe as far as audio is concerned?

I found a picture of the German Media book for "Ringo mit dem goldenen Pistolen" and unfortunately, it DOES NOT contain English Audio. This is a shame as almost every single Spaghetti Western from Germany does include English Audio.

I'm on a Corbucci tear and couldn't wait any longer, so I picked up the Warner Archive DVD. It was cheaper on Amazon than any seller on eBay.

Yeah that is a good pick up, picture quality is decent... does the job!

Hopefully, enough people will buy it so that Warner decides to give it a Blu-ray release. Stranger titles have happened.

But it's annoying that the German Blu-ray release of Ringo and His Golden Gun didn't include an Eng dub or Eng subs like 99% of all the other Spaghetti Westerns coming out of Germany.

For sure Duke, we are in the midst of a dry spell. Nothing even coming out of Germany lately, Explosive Media hasn't put one out in half a year and has nothing on the books announced.. hope they haven't officially given up on them. The only one looking good right now is The Ruthless Four coming out of the UK this Spring.

I would love some more SW.

I wish someone would release Gunman of One Hundred Crosses (1971). Directed by Carlo Croccolo ahd starring Tony Kendall. It features a good female villain, and an excellant female whip fight.
