As someone who owns it, I can say that the steelbook is a thing of absolute beauty... If that helps

Zero Dark Thirty will be a SteelBook if I remember correctly.

I was REALLY lucky! Swedish customs usually single me out for most imports but this one slipped right through without a raised eyebrow anywhere...

There's one on ebay at the moment for $100. Although it's a very nice thing in it's own right, after seeing the video of PA's effort, it doesn't come close. Can't wait til next month.

They're very good with their labelling. In fact I don't remember hearing one person complain about getting caught by customs for this release. I got both the full & 1/4 slip delivered together and they sailed through.

That would be great if that happened. Any day you don't have to pay customs is a great day lol

I ordered the combo before the early bird price was gone so now i just gotta figure out how i cancel my Melancholia order. I'm guessing it's through email because i don't see a cancel button on my account.

I believe it was $2 cheaper on release day: $31.99 vs. the current $33.99. Plus the earlier you ordered the lower the number you would get, for those interested.

Yup, that's right. Early Bird price was $31.99 ($2 lower) for the stand-alone Melancholia.

Eh. I love the design, but I still think it's a bit much for $34 plus shipping.

I'm still 100% convinced The Criterion Collection will release this soon.

For all I think the Criterion collection editions are beautiful, (and no doubt this will get a release, as did Antichrist) not one I have seen comes close to the finish on this edition. Obviously I'm talking about packaging design here which isn't important to everyone, but as one of my favourite films the best design is always the one I'd be going for. My two pence anyway.
