Default May The 4th (be with you) star wars event

Months ago I heard rumblings that such a film event was taking place, but was not entirely sure about authenticity of such an event, lo and behold my local Cinema is one of 8 outings through out NZ hosting all six movies on the 3rd and 4th of may. so have booked the Phantom Menace on day 1 (3d) and Episodes 4-6 on the 4th.

anyone going to big events on these days?. are you dressing up?.

Of all the Star Wars characters, the Borg are probably my favorite.

they are somewhat interchangeable . Borg, Droids they all look alike.

....

our cinema is promoting HPS - 4000 sound aluding to the fact that the films may be mixed with such sound in mind, this is the ultimate factor for me going. Love me audio.

I dont know why they dont do this in US theaters. When Episode III came out theaters in Europe and other places did marathons of all 6, but not in the US.

oh well, my theater setup at home is about as good as the tiny screen theyd put this in if they DID do it at my theater anyway.

I will say it's kinda wimpy of them to split it over two days. If you're a true fan, make it a one-day event, six movies!!

I'll probably split it into two days this weekend. I don't know if I can handle 6 movies in a row!

The Borg I think is part of Star Trek.

Arrow

so just got back from Phantom

hhm. it sure does have a beautiful soundfield. John Williams sound envelopes the surrounds (our cinema has less than average subwoofer action unfortunately).

Colours were bland some imagery soft and blurry slight out of focus imagery in parts especially with space or matte shots ok in other scenes, waxy in some parts, kinda looked upscaled tbh. so I am relatively unsure if that is technical presentation or relative age of source material, considering the trailers for Guardians and HTTYD 2 looked superb.

great fans and costumes, a good full Darth Vader Uniform as well as Padme.

look forward to the first 3 for tomorrow. that is Episode's 4-6
