Default Why does Warner have to half-ass everything?

This is a minor complaint, but still. It's gotta be because it's Warner. I get Road Warrior on Blu-ray today, and once again, there is no booklet inside. I'm not saying I was screwed over and didn't get a booklet when someone else did. What I'm saying is: it's kinda stupid when you open up a case and all you see is the disc. No insert? It's got the insert holders - use them!

I have to agree. BD should = Inserts AT LEAST!

I hated to open a DVD to find no inserts. Not even something telling me the scene selections.

If you ever noticed - the "Regular DVD's" had just a disk. You know, the cheapy 15.99 or 19.99 disks.

The trend moved all those inserts and other items to the "Special 2 Disk Editions", the ones that are 24.99 or 28.99.

Started the last few years. Got to the point where I didn't buy SE dvds unless it was one I really liked. I never look at the extra disks anyways.

Uhhh, yeah? I've never seen an insert that was anything other than an advertisement, or reminder for firmware updating.

I'll be happy if they just use the backside of the cover art. I'm pretty sure that's why they went with the see-through cases.

I have over 200 DVDs and 15 BRs. Personally I don't want inserts. If I lend out my disks I always worry , amoung other things, that something will be ruined or scratched or something will happen. This is just another thing that can be damaged or lost. Yeah its not a big deal but I like to collect things and keep them in good order.

An insert is something you look at once, then never again. Pass the savings on to us and leave them crappy inserts out.

I'm inclined to agree. Unless there is a compelling text story to tell that can't be gleaned from the extras on the BD, what's the point?

Most studios have gotten to the point where inserts are nothing more tha advertisements for other discs anyway. Unless they do a booklet that offers something more substantial, it's of little use. It does look cheap not including something though, when the case is designed for it. I'd also like to see more studios follow Sony and Disney by printing on both sides of the jacket.

Of all my Blu-rays the only one with a real insert (non-ad) is Chronos. I'm more upset with Warners and their half-ass Blu-ray transfers.

Look at it this way: Warner could be supporting HD-DUD only.

Whats the PQ like on this? I've got the Region 2 dvd boxset but the PQ is terrible crawling with grain on night & day scenes is there much of an improvement?

After all of my *****ery, I am just thankful that Warner is giving us a loseless audio track on "300."

I really careless about inserts or the stupid IME extra nonsense, I just wanted to be able to watch 300 in its "best" presentation.

And by best, I mean atleast comparable to HD-DVD, I know if Warner encoded for BD exclusively it could be much better, but its good enough for me to be happy with.

I've only watched the first 10 minutes or so. It's pretty good considering how old this film is. Great colors of course, and I was actually a little surprised at the amount of sharpness and detail. Check out Highdefdigest.com for a review of it. It's not the best Bluray, in terms of picture quality, but its not bad by any means!

Thumbs down

people at warner can kiss my hairy ass supporting HD DVD more than BD what i h8 the most is that they take out all the gud movies on HD DVD way b4 on Blu Ray (matrix Troy etc) and even if they do take out movies at the same time the quality is [crap] compared to HD DVD most of them being on BD-25's . this feels gud *****ing abt warner

i don't have any use for inserts, so i don't really care either way. as long as the disc and movie are great, that's all that matters to me *shrug*

How about giving the Fountain crap in the audio department? If any movie in their catalouge deserved 7.1 Lossless uncompressed LPCM, it's the Fountain.
