non-playable disc - Blu-ray Forum

help please! received blu-ray disc from amazon.com.uk. put into disc player(ps3). message states playback of this BD disc is prohibited. to play: firmware update needed. somebody school me please. I thought this disc would be playabe here in US. I checked region coding and it said all regions. video format said PAL. so how can i get this to play on my ps3? title of BD disc is Sweeney Todd. I do not have access to the internet via computer drive at home. i also have not done any ps3 firmware updates yet. so is this the problem or what? I mean up to now i haven't had any playback issues for BD movies. help, what do i have to do to get playback of this disc from the uk? thanks in advance for any/all respondents.

No pendrive? Can you hook up the ethernet to your ps3?

You can download the updates at work to a flash drive and bring them home that way
