(I posted this in the UK section too, but I figured as it pertains to two version of the Blu-ray, I'd ask in here too, and this section receives a lot more attention as well)
Hey all, I've bought the UK release of Brokeback Mountain recently (not yet dispatched), and I've just noticed that the listing on here says the UK release only has Dolby Digital 5.1 audio, whilst the US release has DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 (48kHz, 24-bit). Is this correct? If so I'll cancel my order and import from somewhere (any suggestions, anyone?). My partner loves this film and I want to make sure to get everything in the best quality. Edit: according to this thread the UK version also has a noticeable pause when the layer changes, is this not in the US version? |

The UK Blu-ray seems to be from a distributor Entertainment in Video instead of Universal, perhaps that's why it seems to only have Dolby audio instead of DTS Master Audio?
Your link is to the 2012 re-release which wasn't reviewed here, and no one has confirmed it is region free. But the 2009 original release was reviewed and confirmed to be region free. Link. Also, Amazon UK carries the US import version and lists it as being region free. Amazon UK's price of £31+ is crazy, but Marketplace sellers have from £8.55, and that might be less expensive than buying it from a US retailer and paying shipping to the UK. Great film. I've watched my copy several times and have never noticed any delay in a layer shift, nor any other issues. Last edited by The Duke; 05-05-2014 at 01:59 PM. Reason: typo |
