I caught the film first at a one day-only special at my local arthouse theater. I consider this a lesser Gilliam movie, although that's likely because the mathematical nature of the film makes it not as accessible as his earlier films. Still, if the bonus features are plentiful, it might be worth getting at a sale price.

Even though the only Terry Gilliam film I enjoy is 12 Monkeys, I am still curious about checking this one out.

I've been very curious about this. From the trailer it even feels surprisingly reminiscent of both 12 Monkeys and Brazil.

I've actually been meaning to re-watch 12 Monkeys too as it is as well my favorite of Gilliam's films.

Yeah, it's not releasing in US...this month. I'll PM a mod and ask him to delete this thread. Or to move it in Canadian section.

Yeah, I was wondering what was going on with this one. I just saw yesterday that it won't be released in theaters until 9/19 (VOD 8/19).

Well that's pretty disappointing. I wasn't expecting Citizen Kane, but I still wanted to give it a shot. I guess I'll have to be patient

Depressing that a director who has made so many great movies gets his new work treated like this.

He had his old work treated just as badly. I will check this out before I buy. Gilliam's cut of Brazil is my second favorite movie of all time behind Blade Runner The Final Cut. Time Bandits and 12 Monkeys are both classics. Other than that he is pretty hit or miss for me. I am glad he keeps making his films though. As bad as he gets treated by studios I would would have walked away years ago and found something else to do.

So, there are 3 featurettes and a trailer? Much less than the UK disc.

A word of warning:

Just popped this into the player and was dismayed to find that, despite the claims on the cover, it features only Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks in both English and French. NO DTS Master Audio as advertised.

Mongrel's version of NYMPHOMANIAC has the same shortcoming, although that one was properly labelled.

There is no DTS HD Master Audio lossless track even the packaging of the disc lists it.The only English track is a lose-y Dolby Digital 5.1 track. Terry Gilliam's film deserves better, especially with the very active sound design that the film employs. I hope that the disc manufacturer issues corrected discs but I'm not sure how I'll get it because I'm in the United States. Being a big Gilliam fan I simply couldn't wait until it was released here. Hopefully if/when corrected discs are issued they will still send me one. The one star is because the disc is not as the manufacturer described and should not be a reflection on the film.

I got the UK disc, DTS-HD MA 5.1 English track, 13 featurettes.

How about the specs, is the movie at least in 1080p, in the correct 1:85:1 aspect ratio?
