I've heard a fair number of uber high-end speakers over the years, the most expensive being Wilson WAMM's. If I could rationalize the purchase, I'd buy Martin Logan Statements.
As a retailer we were invited to Kansas to tour the plant. It was early fall 2007 with the speakers to be available at out store by fall 2008

That is all I can remember. I have not done much critical listening to expensive speakers since I bought my speakers 5 years ago.

The recent ones (within 2 years) on my list are the B&Ws, the Focals, and the Paradigm S8.

Oh and Revel speakers like 6 years ago (somewhere around 10k/pair I heard)
Typo- hand got off the home row (f and v right under each other) thanks for the correction

Those are on my wish list also

LOL, happens to the best of us. On a side note, I loved Vifa when they were around, I used raw vifa drivers (mids + tweeters) in some of my old car audio systems. They also used to use them in the gen 1 Def Tech speakers which I used to love.

Since then they have merged with scanspeak and I think the name Vifa is completely gone.

Audax and scanspeak still have ALOT of their drivers used in some of the nicest speakers in the world, which you probably already know.

You came right into my wheelhouse with vifa, scanspeak, and audax.

My local dealer has Aerial Acoustics paired with a Lexicon amp, and its amazing. I was a huge B&W fan until I heard these.

I don't have any! But I do know that they are picky about their amplification. A Quad electrostatic speaker will tell on you if you use cheap amps.

He's right, the only Klipsch that are in his class are the larger Klipschorns, and the new Paladium speakers.

Yes, and the same place had the Wilson Alexandrias. I Actually liked the Nautilus better. Though I still think the Infinity IRS was one of the most impressive speakers I have ever heard. It's just hard to compare them since it's been over 12 years since I heard them! They just leave quite an impression.

I listen to Wilson Alexandria's at least once a month. A dealer who deals out of his house has them set up and he's only about two blocks from me. I listen to records on them with one of his $15k record players. They blow my mind every time.

I have heard many very good speakers, but the best was Jm Labs Nova Utopia. They cost about $25,000 a pair and weigh about 175 pounds each but they have simply the most real sound i have ever heard from a speaker. Next being the Focal Electra 1027 be, one third the price of the Novas for about 3/4 of the performance. Obviously i like French speakers but would like to hear some of the Italian speakers out there.
