Any news on whether this will be the pre cut UK theatrical version or the uncut which was probably used elsewhere as most other countries are less squeamish at the 12 or similar rating.

From the BBFC website
Quote:
Precuts information

During post-production, the distributor sought and was given advice on how to secure the desired classification. Following this advice, certain changes were made prior to submission.

This work was originally seen for advice. The company was advised that the film was likely to receive a 15 certificate but that their preferred 12A classification could be achieved by making some changes. The company was advised to reduce stronger moments of violence where there was a dwelling on particular acts and to reduce the emphasis on blood on bladed weapons. When the film was formally submitted, changes had been made which addressed these concerns. Consequently, the film was passed 12A.

Entertainment One has decided to only release the censored cut of the movie on Bluray and DVD,

If I had know this I would never have picked it up, altho I prob should have expected Eone to make some form of cock up they seem to have a track record of messing up releases.

Three things:

1) It's Entertainment One, just think about The Three Musketeers and how much (and how fast) that came down.

b) From the director of Resident Evil*. That is something to shout about now?

iii) I got excited, I thought the thread title was Up Pompeii!

Oh, and cut? Even pre-cut? Pass. You could wait and see what the rest of Europe or Australia gives us. By then it'll be six quid anyway

*They are guilty pleasures of mine. Like Donner Kebabs, you know they're bad but...

I started to think what ever happened to the company which used to insist on releasing cut movies in the UK (Momentum Entertainment) turns out they are now operating as Eone

Don't get me started what idiots Momentum are. Their classic is Woman in Black where they paid the BBFC for both a cut 12 certificate and uncut 15 certificate for home viewing, but released the DVD and BD both with the cut 12 version.

Of recent films with Hercules I can't understand Paramount insisting on using the cut 12 version for the BD same as the cinema. At least with Jack Reacher they had the sense to allow the BD to be 15 uncut.

Does anyone know if any of the European releases of this were cut like the UK one? For example France.

Have not seen the movie yet, trailer looked really cool though. I'll wait for a price drop before I add this to my collection.

The Empire magazine article(can't remember the issue) about it certainly made it look good.

Noah looked a little too religion-heavy to me. I never have time for hugely religious films.

I just found Noah very heavy going. Is a pity as the German Steelbook has amazing 3D even though its a post conversion and a rocking 7.1 soundtrack.

Pompeii is just your typical Friday night switch off and have some fun disaster movie with great video and audio on the Sony disk, so much more a relaxing watch than Noah's seriousness.

The film isnt as religious as you would expect, its more of a fantasy epic
