Default A Few Good Blu-Rays

Looking for some feedback:

Amazon is having a nice blu-ray sale. I was looking to buy a BD or two, but I am not sure which to buy. Here are my questions:

Based on overall picture quality, which 2 blu-ray's are the best to purchase?

Based on overall VALUE (picture quality + good movie) which are the 2 best to buy?

Thanks!

The best value is Blade Runner for $19.99. The PQ is just awesome, and you will be getting 5 BD disks in the Collectors Set. An awesome value.

In my limited collection, the BDs that I would say are the best PQ and "value" are:

I, Robot
POTC Curse of the Black Pearl
Live Free or Die Hard
Casino Royale
Blackhawk Down

Based on the sale -

Based on overall picture quality - I, Robot & either Blade Runner, Crank, 3:10, or Apocalypto

Based on overall VALUE - 3:10 (Great movie & Great PQ!!!) & Blade Runner (5 discs & Great PQ) or I, Robot (PQ makes up for any faults in the story line)

I watched Sunshine again a couple of days ago and I'm still amazed at the picture quality.

I concur that Blade Runner is an excellent choice in terms of both value and picture quality. However, the set is 3 blu-rays and 2 DVDs. All versions of the movie are on blu-ray, but the 2 discs devoted to extra features are on DVD.

well it depends on what type of movies you like, if you like disney Cars and Ratatouille are BY FAR the best blu rays. The Chronicles of narnia is also great pic and film. If you like more grown up movies i'd suggest :

1) Shooter (mark whalberg) its priced $15 -20 and its a great movie with a great picture

2) Rambo (new one) awesome explosions. looks cool!!

3) goodfellas - while its not blu at its best (because the movie is almost 20 years old) its by FAR the best this classic movie has ever looked and in a good sale you can pick it up for around 18 bucks

4) 310 to yuma - the dirt and old cowboy look of the west has never looked better

well i hoped i helped, good luck

Thanks for the feedback.

Blade Runner seems to be the leader, but I have never seen the movie, and I'm a little hesitant. I actually like I, Robot, so I may pick that one up.

It also looks like all the Disney/Pixar films are high on the lists, so I'll take a look at one of those too (GF doesn't have the third Pirates yet, so maybe I'll pick it up on BD).

A few of the movies suggested we have on DVD, and I have been impressed thus far with PS3's upconvert, so I'm hesitant on double-dipping.

Thanks so far! Keep the suggestions coming!

And what about Hellboy or Independence Day? Or even BS's Dracula?
