Macross Frontier would be very nice to own on blu. I'd also like to see older titles like Magic Knight Rayearth and The Vision of Escaflowne on blu-ray, as well as any unreleased Studio Ghibli movies.

Ocean Waves is not yet released on Blu-ray in Japan.

I hope many more anime releases happen stateside that were released on Blu-ray in Japan. However, I have realized that it's quite possible many will not be upgraded. Unless a deal is worked out for the Satoshi Kon films (as an example), Sony Pictures Classics doesn't upgrade their catalog at all to HD... so foreign editions are the only options at this time for what they hold the rights to. Which is unfortunate, and not only for anime films... they have a nice catalog of films that could use HD upgrades.

Then there's classics that have never been made available to the US market because they are considered as essential pieces of Japanese anime so the licensing costs are made significantly high and are unworkable for the US market (Future Boy Conan, Anne of Green Gables, etc.) because the US anime companies don't see enough sales potential.

Having said all of that, I hope more and more releases come out and especially for those made available in JP. I just personally hope to make some custom English friendly versions based upon the JP editions for ones I don't expect to make it over here.

The issue with the Gundam franchise is that Sunrise and Bandai JP expect a US company to license EVERYTHING at a huge cost as it's one of the most popular anime franchise's ever. The US companies only want a few titles, though, and would want to wait it out hoping to convince them to only license them certain titles. Gundam Wing and Gundam Seed are probably the only two that would sell significantly well if upgraded here. The 008th MS and 83 might sell decent numbers but would still be a far cry for any studio licensing these.

... and of course, the original Mobile Suite Gundam had notoriously low sales in the US, despite being one of the most essentially high-regarded anime classics and the start to the entire franchise. So that is one I have lower expectations of ever getting licensed for Blu-ray. Though obviously I hope it does get released at some point. I think it might not though and this is one where it might be worth getting the JP editions, for a fan...

I'm also curious about the JP editions of Turn A Gundam as it's never been made available officially outside of JP before (and still hasn't). So the JP Blu-ray editions might wind up being the only ones.

Not big on manga at all but Fist Of The North Star and Lensmen made a little bit of an impression on me when I was a boy. It would be interesting to see how they hold up.

The Mystic Archives of Dantalian - It only ran for one season but I have no idea why someone like Sentai doesn't give it a release. It's an easy show to market in the West.

Gosick - This one is already out on BD in Japan, I think the content owners don't want an American release competing with it.

The second season of Squid Girl. My first season BD is getting lonely.

I wish Satoshi Kon's work would get blu-ray releases here in the US. Other than Paprika has any of his work had a blu release here in the states? This legend's work should be readily available without having to import it.

I strongly agree with gretzky2010 on the Galaxy Express 999 films. In addition I would like to see the Urusei Yatsura films on blu, as well as Ah (OH)! My Goddess The Movie and series.

Escaflowne is being released in the UK this year, including a director's cut of the movie.

I'd like some older shows as well - Harlock, Galaxy Express, Lupin III etc.

All the Macross shows would be great as well, but Harmony Gold, so......
