Wonder if they will use the new french transfer from the blu-ray? That one don't have such high marks on here. Audio seems great though.

I wonder if this release has been delayed. It isn't available to order on Amazon. It is on Zavvi, but whether they will have stock when it comes to the 10th.

I doubt it. I received a check disc last week, but unfortunately have other discs with earlier release dates to crack through first.

I got a review disc as well. Watched it the other night, really strong transfer IMO. I'm not the biggest videophile so I can't really tell a bad transfer from a good one but it looks good to me. Good little making of as well.

The film is a personal favourite of mine. Me and a few mates were 15 when we went to see it at the cinema and, although some of my friends detested subtitles, they were hooked from the opening scene.

The French release looks fine, all they had to do, (hopefully), was port it across.

I don't think I've seen any BDs with the picture pushed to the top to accommodate the subtitles like the Taxi DVD (it was a common occurrence on TV for foreign films) but I assume the BD is standard 2.39:1?

2.35:1. Judging from Pro-B's screenshots of the French release, and the ARP Selection logo on the disc, I'm 99.9% the transfer is ported from the French release like Sky Captain suggested above. Decent transfer, and a superb audio track.

The subtitles are in the picture this time round, though appear to be Americanised (apologized instead of apologised etc).

Any chance that they'll port the booklet over from the French release?

There is a German box set with all 4 films, but doubt it is English friendly.

With there now being a TV series (Taxi Brooklyn - no idea if any good), hopefully this will push some releases of the films.

I need the english subtitles, independent releases don't have them in foreign countries.
