Well it is the worst movie of the year. The story is good, but the acting is atrocious, CGI is laughably bad and the execution was just poor.

Not even worth a $5 purchase.

I agree. I saw this one last week and it wasn't much better than the rest of their recent output. The only three things i liked were Jared Harris, the 70s setting and avery good score. The rest was thoroughly forgettable.

I can't believe how terrible this was. The editing was a hot mess. Was it originally rated-R or something? That bathtub scene was so choppy.

I wouldn't even buy this if it was being sold at Dollar Tree stores for $1. Yes, it's THAT bad! I rented it and watched it the other day. Didn't care for it at all.

Surprised to see all the negativity on this forum but it seems mostly isolated here with quite a few solid reviews from critics. Personally I loved it, and I also loved all the great behind the scenes goodies on the Blu too. Really great package.

Thought it was pretty awful to be honest. Bad Performances, Bad Scares and a Bad Script. Shame really, Missed opportunity.

I thought Harris was incredible, Coupland felt like a classic Hammer creation to me. I admit I wasn't too impressed with the rest of the cast but when I saw Cooke speaking on the special features I was amazed, normally you can tell when an accent is being put on but she was really natural.

Also, as far as found footage jump scares go, I think The Quiet Ones did the best you can with those mediums. Which admittedly isn't saying much, but it was a damn sight better than "Paranormal Activity" and "Blair Witch" and other such drivel.
