Depending on the title it can be a contractual agreement with the licencer not to sell it to anyone outside of the UK. Hence some steels listed for worldwide sale and others for UK only.
It might not be very common for mainstream films but in the Anime world it's an every day occurrence. You can't really hold it against the seller if the licencer has made them agree not to sell outside UK, that's probably why they said to join a group buy. Anime Lmited came in to the same trouble with their recent Mai Mai Miricle Kickstarter. They had to lose a lot of international backers due to the licencer in Japan only letting them ship to UK,US,Canada and ROI. There are ways around it though. I forgot what the service is called, but essentially you sign up and are given a UK address to use when buying items that won't be shipped outside the UK, then when it get's delivered to the UK address it get's forwarded to your home adress. Could be worth looking in to for some of you. |

well.. here´s the thing... now I wanted to purchase titles that ARE INDEED AVAILABLE WORLDWIDE.. just the ebay shop or whatever isn´t working properly... they´ve replied one time it´s going to be fixed within the next hours but any messages after that they´ve simply ignored... and it´s STILL not working... yes.. steels are available in goup buys.. ebay from other sellers.. etc etc but I SHOULD be able to buy each of em for 14.99 shipped so I am not overly exited to have to pay considerably more with paypal fees/postage and mail forwarding... I thought I´d wait for it to be fixed.. and tried contacting them again.. only to be ignored again.... they don´t seem to be needing the business if they can´t even be arsed to reply and help peeps to buy their items..??? |

I've been forced to go to Ebay and there are two different cover versions of True Romance, one has a sticker on the lower part that says: "Limited Edition of 4,000 copies Available exclusively at Entertainment Store." and there is an 18 logo above it on both sides. The other copies I'm seeing just have the plain front, no stickers. Why would they not have the stickers when the Entertainment store went out of its way to let you know it was an exclusive and limited print run? Also the copies with stickers seem to have a J card. I can't get a view of the back but it says blu ray across the top that looks exactly like a j card. Curious if this affects the value in any way, just curious about thoughts if any.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, was just venting that since the entertainment store won't ship to me I'm forced to but a copy of True Romance (Entertainment Store Exclusive) off eBay. Some copies don't have the limited Entertainment Store Sticker or The J card on the very top of the front, can't find any that show the back of the steelbook. So I just wanted to ask any members if they know the copy has to have the sticker for it to be authentic. Because there are a lot more sealed copies without the sticker & J card. Thanks Huntauk, you seem to think that a version without the sticker and possibly j card is not the right copy. Any other opinions appreciated.

Many of the ES exclusives are shared runs with other countries so it may be the True Romance one comes from elsewhere. An example is Jack Reacher which was extremely limited in UK via ES but was an Amazon.fr exclusive in France and they had vast quantities. Plus it ended up being discounted to clear. The Steelbook is identical and so is the BD inside its just a difference in the J card French v English. You saw many of the French version for sale on eBay, Amazon Marketplace and Play Trade in the UK. Not all said it was the French version. If you are going to open is no issue the problem is for collectors who leave them sealed. |

I would rather SB's be spaced out and not every single month. Don't get me wrong they are nice, but I'm not a whale like a lot of members are so my SB's fund is tight. ![]() |

I've been collecting long enough to know that the only thing studios are consistant at, is being inconsistant. All three seasons still look great on my Walking Dead shelf. ![]() |
