If Code Red is going ahead with Redeemer on BD without a clean print to work from then I'd say anything is fair game. Tell you the truth, I prefer to watch these in rough condition on Blu-ray. Even if they're not pristine there's always the added resolution. Besides, I don't want these films to look like a Pixar production - they're fine the way they are. Speaking of Final Terror, I guess it's safe to assume that Shout licensed the film from the Arkoff estate, same place they got Hellhole from. If no original elements exist for FT, is there a similar situation for Hellhole? They haven't said what source they're using to master their BD. Would be funny if they have an original neg for that one.

My dvd copy sucks. Too dark. Always thought this was better then average for a backwoods slasher.

Preordered! I've never seen this one, but I love early-mid 80's slashers!

I think you will be very pleased with buying this movie. This is one of my all-time favorites. I love the atmosphere, especially in the last 1/3 of the movie. This movie can't come out fast enough for me.

**EXTRAS REVEALED on THE FINAL TERROR***

We start our 4-month "Summer of Fear" celebration by revealing today the extras for one of our titles within it: THE FINAL TERROR--on DVD & Blu-ray for the first time!

• New Audio Commentary with director Andrew Davis
• New interviews with actors Adrian Zmed and Lewis Smith, Post Production Supervisor Allan Holzman and composer Susan Justin
• Original Theatrical Trailer

This release was a challenge for us to execute. All of the original film elements (negative and inter-positive) were lost and we searched for them for months. In order to create this new HD transfer, we sourced five film prints from collectors and used the best reels. The film looks better than ever (considerably more than its VHS release, of course) but we do feel it is important to disclose that there is some mild discoloring during reel 2. We have done everything possible to minimize it (for some viewers, it will barely be noticeable) but wanted to communicate it all the same beforehand and know that we did the best we could with what we had to work with.

In addition to the film I loved the soundtrack as well so I'm glad there's going to be input by the composer on that commentary, along with the producer and Director. I'm not usually a big fan of commentaries but I intend to listen to this one all the way through (after my 5th viewing of the film, of course ). Will be cool to see Adrian Zmed and, especially Lewis Smith, who I haven't seen in anything after Heavenly Kid (great part in that movie - one of my absolute favorite 80's comedies). All in all a very exciting upcoming release!

The effort is appreciated, it's not like this will sell a million copies and it would be easy to just not bother and let another movie stay in vhs limbo. Thanks scream guys.

Just a heads up, blowitoutahere added The Final Terror for pre-order today - $17.77. If you don't mind waiting another week or so, they will hopefully have another 10-15% off orders $25+ coupon for Fathers Day.

I know but this particular release is very special to me so I just went ahead and ordered it - couldn't wait around for codes for discounts that may or may not happen. It won't get me a copy any sooner but it still feels good

Yeah, somewhere with the Maryland post office, my orders get consistently held up. My stuff goes from Kentucky to Maryland in 2 days. Maryland to Pennsylvania takes 3 days which is odd since it's about a 2 hour drive.

As much as I want it, I also want a coupon. This will make a nice order along with Curtains and probably more if it's 15% this time.

All depends on the USPS.

I think once, I got an item on release day. Normally mine arrive 1-2 days later. Basically, see my post above.

Im the same way, I wont wait for discounts if I want a movie bad enough, which tends to be all of them ..I might put something in my wish list to see if the price drops but ultimately Im pre-ordering anyway or it's day one ..

After all the information about this release and the masters used I dread the comments after a few capsoholic images and a few 3 star reviews..

I really hope that doesn't happen because Scream has been upfront on the quality of this release since day one!
