not really familiar with The Band's catalog (I only know 3 songs) but the performance on here of The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down blows away the studio version.

It's certainly more free-flowing. I actually prefer many of the guest artist jams (especially Dylan, Young, Morrison and Dr. John) where they really let it rip (since nobody had to sound exactly like their records).
