I'll pick this up eventually. I once attended a repertory house triple-bill of JUDEX, EYES WITHOUT A FACE (aka LES YEUX SANS VISAGE), and FANTOMAS (1966). All seats were five bucks for the triple-bill. Those were the days!

I wish that this contained the original serial as an extra, but as great as this looks, I'm not going to complain. I'll most likely be picking this one up during the upcoming B&N sale.

I, too, am hoping that there will be a B&N sale in July.

It's already been confirmed that there will be. It'll last from July 1-28.

I love Franju's Eyes Without a Face, so I'm intrigued by JUDEX, but have never seen it. I've heard the story is on the campy side but visuals are solid...is it a worthy addition? Thinking of blind buying during Criterion Barnes and Noble sale.

The film is not too campy, to be quite honest. Sure the action takes place around a small handful of locations, but the pacing is rather quick.

If you liked Eyes Without a Face, I don't see why you wouldn't like this one. It's a lot better, in my opinion, too.

Interesting....you've piqued my interest a bit more...perhaps I will pick it up tomorrow then, using my coupon and member discount.

For what it's worth, the film is available for rental in an SD format on Amazon Instant Video. I purchased it for, I believe, $1.99 and a week later was refunded the amount once my window had expired.
