I just saw Ironman, and it rocks.

Far better than Batman.

The Matrix had the most replay value for me! Best Movie ever! Sorry off topic...

I liked Batman Begins more than Iron Man... It had a darker feel to it.

Batman Begins is the better movie. It's deep and complex.

Iron Man is a fun comic book movie.

You know, the best thing about both movies is that we can have this discussion. It's great that comic movies can push the studios to do better and better. I'm sure The Dark Knight will blow both of them away and if it does I'm sure the next round of movies will be even better!

Ironman and Batman Begins are the only 2 superhero movies that I have enjoyed. All the other ones I found to be so over the top and ridiculous that I just couldn't get into it.
Transformers was one of the worst films of last year, I know that I am a minority in this opinion. The actors were flat and unlikable beyond the physical attractiveness of the females. The robots were like 13 year old white boys that try to act street. The bad robots weren't very bad and the good ones weren't very good. The only parts that I found funny were the parts that were meant to be serious.
Ironman was everything that Transformers should have been times a million. Top notch performances from an uber talented cast. Lots of humor and excitement that was more due to the emotional investment with the characters then just being a mindless special effects scene with boring people. Shia Lebouf is about as remarkable as a 1982 Honda Civic. In Transformers I didn't care who lived or died because they were all so boring.
That's what really grinds my gears. People talked about Transformers on this website like it was a masterpiece like Apocalypse Now and I don't get it. There must have been over 100 threads started on it just at this site.
I think I liked Ironman just slightly more than Batman Begins, but its a really tight race.

Nah, Iron Man was good but I doubt it tops Batman Begins. Batman is a very hard character to pull off. They've tried and tried and they finally got it right. Most of Iron Man is special effects, you know. I don't think it compares.

Iron Man was more entertaining, but Batman Begins has a better script.

I liked Batman Begins better. It was just really dramatic and compelling. Definitely has more replay value to me because its really thematic. Also, better storytelling, better cast (Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine), and better music (Han Zimmer ftw).

But Iron Man is amazing too! Batman Begins only wins by a little bit

..... well transformers did have a terrible plot, and had a terrible story (a typical michael bay movie, which lacks depth and instead has fast bursts of action and humor)

but i still love it too

I'm surprised that BB is getting so much hate. It's a more ambitious, epic story than IM. The hero has better character development, as we see his motivation stem from his trauma as a child to his discipline and convictions as an adult. The villain Scarecrow was more developed, engaging and mysterious than Bridges' bad guy in IM. The politics of BB were more interesting. The overall story of BB was more believable (not that it matters much for a comic book movie, but Nolan did an amazing job). IM was a more traditional Hollywood effort that relied more on cliches. I found myself enjoying it a lot, but it is not as good as BB.

I think those of you saying IM has more "replay" value than BB will find yourself rapidly getting tired of it while finding new things to discover in BB on each repeat viewing (if you haven't seen it many times already). There's just more to the story and characters in BB.

Uh... do you mean "blow ya all AWAY"??

Cuz if you don't, I'd have to ask you a very important question.

I still think Batman Begins is by far the best superhero movie I have ever seen. Iron Man was pretty good but no movie that I have seen yet can touch Batman Begins as the best superhero movie of all time.

Here hoping that The Dark Knight will stand on top the podium with Batman Begins as the best super hero movies ever!

You may be right. While I think both movies have their problems they are few. When both BB and Iron Man are out on Blu it will be interesting to revisit the question.

I didn't care much for the whole fear chemical on the island sequence (thought it was the movie's weak point), the cast is much stronger overall in BB. That is not to take away anything from the great cast in Iron Man, Batman just had more great actors.
