Although, some might consider it trolling to beat the same hobby-horse over and over (to combine two cliches), so I should probably close my yapper on the subject.

Squirm is far better than Slugs... I might be wrong but I think it's even set in your home state!!

Really, Leviathan? I had no idea there were any fans for that film, but it's good to know. Don't underestimate Squirm. It's a much-beloved cult-horror film, and we all know how passionate horror fans are. Not so much passion for a generic sci-fi alien underwater hybrid film, sorry. Squirm has always been a personal favorite, and easily Lieberman's best film. I remember seeing it at the drive-in back in the 70s!

Oh don't get me wrong, I agree with you completely about the benefits of Arrow's releases over Shout (especially when it comes to compression/encoding). I was just pointing out that this announcement happened to come about a couple days after I placed an order for Arrow's sale...

Yes, Leviathan actually has more of a following than you realize.

It is extremely underrated - blame MST3k for the unfairly low IMDB rating - but there's no way Squirm is better than Blue Sunshine.

I wonder if this opens the door for the possibility of Shout including Squirm on an upcoming MST3K set now?

I saw this one when I was 12 during it's theatrical run in '76 at River City Cinemas in Monroe, Michigan. Dang, I miss that theater.

It's a shame they couldn't have at least added the MST3K audio as an alternate track.

I doubt it. Lieberman wasn't fond of the movie being licensed to MST3K in the first place.

Back then when it was put on they sent me a tape. I said, yeah okay I get it. I was furious about the sale - I don’t care about goofing on the movie, I tell the audience to goof on the movie. What I was furious about is that some jerk at MGM sold it to them. They pay so little. I own 12% of Squirm and it’s going to cheapen the value of the movie from then on. I know the movie plays in its entirety on cable without having to put it in a package of a thing like that.

I think there is a possibility of MST3K sets with Melting Man and Squirm versions.

I hope so. Both of those episodes are really good. And more MST3K is always good.

I always detested Squirm.

The first time i saw Squirm was in this quad i shared with two other room mates back at college. It was on a weekend and I had brought home some take out beef lo mein and my room mates were having a movie night with other friends. Well I hadn't even heard of the flick till i started to sit down and eat. It got up to the scene where some bloke hick was running with worms burrowing deep in his face. I completely stopped eating. In the middle of that darkened living room, friends were asking if I brought fried wonton because they were getting a whiff of the aroma. One whispered what did you bring, I said "Oh they gave me the wrong order, shit," I was just fixated at the scene. I used to keep two mobiles back then, one for work, and one for social so I just phoned myself and made out like I had to take this.

Uggh, I'll never forget that experience.

Squirm is my favorite nature run amuck film. I am very excited for this blu-ray release. I had a feeling that Shout would pick this oneup. They will give the justice this film deserves. CAN'T WAIT !!!

**ARTWORK REVEAL for SQUIRM (Collector's Edition)**

Check out our newly-designed artwork for the upcoming blu-ray Collector's Edition Jeff Lieberman's 70s cult classic SQUIRM which is scheduled to drop in October! Credit for this wonderful wormy vision goes to designer Paul Shipper (who just recently came through on the upcoming Halloween Complete Collection set). Fans of the original Drew Struzan theatrical one-sheet design need not worry as it will be available on the reverse side of the wrap.

Expect pre-order links to go up in the next few weeks.Extras are underway and will be announced sometime later this Summer.
