Satellite Internet

Just wondering if anyone here knows much about satellite internet. I understand what it is and all that but am wondering about the speeds and what not. Wondering if it will be fast enough to play PS3 games online. I understand there may be quite a bit longer lag response.

Does anybody here have or have knowledge they can share?

It isn't good for online gaming. It makes you lag really bad.

Worthless for gaming. About like dial-up.

Thing is, it has to upload through what ever ground connection you have, therefor, any ground based internet will have faster upload (what matters in hosting any game) by far.

This joke is built for people who live so far outside of normal area's that they cant get good DSL, or there is no Cable provider. Outside of those people, no one should use it.

shouldn't the internet be faster with satellite? it is coming down from the sky instead of up from the ground. you all are dumb.

Thanks for the replies guys. I was asking about it because we will be moving to a rural area of arizona in 2 months and might not have any other options.

i have a WPLL system where i live(the same as the one in NewYork to allow folks to use tinterwebnet when out and about)and it sucks the big one for gaming and even against slow speed dsl, so i woouldnt recommend it if you want to do anything gamey or even uploadin stuff
