Default Godd HTIB for gaming

Hi guys. I have a 60gb PS3 and a Xbox 360. Just wanted some recomendations on a decent HTIB to use with them on a HD lcd tv.
I am a noob, and just want a system that will allow my gaming consoles to do what they are suppose to do on a tv. I'm not an audioholic but would like a good picture and sound. I would like to keep the price around $600.00 and below.I dont need one with a dvd player as I will be using the ps3 or 360 for that. Oh, I have a Wii as well, but I dont think it's capable of HDMI hookup is it? The wii is not important anyway, my system needs to be dedicated around the PS3, with the option of working with the 360 as well if thats possible. I will also get HD programing thru Direct tv as well.
I also need a good LCD tv that will handle the setup (46" or bigger) for around $1500.00 or less.
Thanks for any help!

I was looking at the SONY HT-SS2000, ONKYO HT-S5100 ,Onkyo HT-SR800,and the Onkyo HT-S4100 but I dont know what the difference is between them other than 7.1 vs 5.1

I went with the SR-800 and kind of regret it. You should get a good reciever, speakers, sub, and cables instead. It may seem tedious but in the long run, it is the best solution.

The Sony Str -K900 ....its not really that expensive, has two HDMI Ins and One Out, has two opitcal ins, Two component connections, a digital audio connection, and much more....I couldnt be happier with it since I bought it as my gaming and movie reciever for my bedroom.....Blu rays sound great

Theres some Samsungs on sale at Best Buy this week, good prices and big sizes....

i have the sony ht-ss2000 too, and it does sound really good.i just bought it at best buy two weeks ago. it sells for $399.00 in store, but i got the salesman to knock off $50.00 for applying for a credit card (you get the discount no matter the outcome) and then i price matched there own website at $359.00. so i got it for$309.00 plus tax.

I wouldn't reccomend mixing 8ohm speakers with this htib that uses 3 ohm speakers.

it works great. the impedance is not an issue because you canchange the levels individual. its not like a single channel.

I like that Polk deal. He could also get the Onkyo 605 for $259. That bundle is my best recommendation for starters. And for cables, Monoprice all the way!

I'm doing something very similar. I just didn't feel good about ecost so I went with a different retailer allaccessories4less.com (I think?) Getting the onkyo 605 refurb for $299 shipped and going to pick up those polks later this month. I have my 2nd monoprice hdmi cable on the way and will pick up some 16ga wire once I see what my needs will be with running them under the floor.

So long, crappy RCA HTiB! And yes, before you ask, the site is a listed reseller for Onkyo. Thanks to the folks at this site (especially Crackinhedz' sticky post) for all the good info.
