Wow, such a highly-rated series and no dedicated thread (at least that I can find anyway)

I really enjoy this series which is named after a neighborhood in New Orleans known for its authentic local music. It takes place post-Katrina and covers the struggles of a city trying to get back on its feet. Gritty and all too real, well acted and written, it keeps my attention week after week. I love music and that is one aspect of the show which really draws me in. It really complements and makes the show. It is New Orleans after all

I'm watching the Season 2 eps right now on the DVR, before Season 3 airs in September. Why is the Season 1 BD set $80, though? Doesn't make sense...

It is a wonderful rewarding show. I like it more than the Wire. I find it easier to follow and enjoy. I just got the Season 2 Blu ray on ebay New for only 25 bucks which kinda amazed me. I still gotta watch the last 2 eps of season 2 but I am loving it so far. Cant wait until season 3.

Still haven't gotten season 2 but have S1.

It's not an incredibly popular show but it's beautifully filmed, wonderfully written... I can't praise it enough. Wish it had more of an audience. Glad HBO sticks with it despite really really low viewership.

I recently discovered this series and I love it. love the city of New Orleans too. I'll be heading back to New Orleans in a couple of months too and the show makes me miss it a lot. It will be nice to visit some of the places they film at too.

$25 new!? That's a steal!

I want to pick up the second season but it was expensive upon release and has not dropped yet

Great show though! the first season started a little slow but the last few episodes were simply breathtaking..... And makes the episodes before them that much better

Amazon has pre-order listings up with no release date yet for the 4th season ($49.99 SRP) and the Complete Series ($134.99 SRP) on Blu-ray.

Does the complete set also feature Dutch subtitles? The review on blu-ray.com states not, but this is contradictory to the fact that all the individual seasons seem to have them.

Again a bump. I'm going tot the States next month, and I'd really like to know if the 4 season box set contains Dutch subtitles before I buy it. Could anybody please check this?

The page clearly states that it does. My disc is the same.

I imagine it's just a repackaging of the existing seasons. If this is the case, Season 4 doesn't have Dutch subtitles.

It does, but on (i must say very few) occasions Blu-ray.com is wrong. An acquaintance of mine bought Falling Skies season 3 after Blu-ray.com confirmed the presence of Dutch subtitles, but upon arrival he found out they weren't actually on them. Also Banshee season 1 was rumoured to have Dutch subtitles, but this information was corrected. A problem that occurs now and then is that Dutch and Danish are confused with each other.

Nevertheless, thanks. I'm sure now that I can pick it up safely next month.

If the back cover is any indication, only Seasons 1-2 have Dutch subtitles. https://images3.static-bluray.com/mo...87459_back.jpg

Just checked my copy of Season 3 and it does not list Dutch subtitles but S1-2 do.

Season 4 down to $23.99.Too bad they cancelled it, though. I really enjoyed the show. New Orleans is such a great town for music and they really show it off quite well. Good drama too of course. It's not all about the music after all. Not sure if that's a good thing to say or not in New Orleans, though, without getting a smirk

Caught all 4 seasons on 1080i, though
