We all hear about remakes of classic films that nobody asked for, such as Robocop. Surely there must be movies that are a good candidate for a remake?

I would like to see a new Mario Brothers movie, because the first one was garbage.

I'd also love to see a new remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street... the first one is so bad, a new remake is bound to happen. Again, if put in the right hands, it could be solid.

Orca (1977) comes to mind. There are parts of that film that are beautiful and haunting, unfortunately it's brought down a bit by some corny moments. I've always thought a remake, keeping everything good about the original and dropping the most ridiculous stuff, could be something amazing.

Highlander could be good as a planned franchise, instead of just popping out sequels that contradict the previous movies.

There also might be something salvageable with The Postman that another director and star could find.
