I've just seen You COuld Be Mine from that show...

Axl sounds like he's about to die on stage

I saw the group in 1991 at Wembley in London and also 1992. Fantastic teen memories.

Today this covers band is a joke.

Bumblefoot fan signing in! Saw this lineup live twice, the second time in 2012 they even started 15 minutes early (unseen for GnR). Both instances they played for 3 hours, amazing concerts and Axl sounded great live. Part of me wishes this was a festival setting and not the Vegas residency, but can't wait to rock this in 3D!

Watched the November Rain clip, and wow do I feel bad about everything I saw and heard. Just... yikes. Sounds like a bad comedy cover.

Dont understand why some people like one jerk over the other. They ruined their band equally. One with drugs and lost inspiration, the other with an ego the size of Texas.

They both lost out but the new band has some very important musicians in it. One of them was worshiped by Nirvana and every other hair metal killing band.

Why do people care about the live band? Because of Trent Reznor. Agree or not, Axl is the main draw for GNR. Has he aged well? Nope. But he's been humbled. He doesn't sound nearly as good as back in the 90's, but that's no reason to shit all over the guy. If you don't like the new band or Axl's voice, don't buy the concert and politely get the **** out of this forum.

Nine Inch Nails has gone through more lineup changes than Deep Purple and Black Sabbath combined in a quarter of the time. It was pretty obvious from the start NIN was Reznor and other musicians supporting. No one really expects Reznor to keep the band stable from album to album and tour to tour any more than say, David Bowie would keep the same group of musicians as he went through his career.

GnR *as a band* of mostly equal contributors came up with a couple great EPs and one of the greatest debut albums in hard rock, losing only the drummer to come up with a pair of excellent followup albums. Totally different dynamic. Add to that the sleazy way Axl essentially bought out the other members stake in the band and eventually squeezed them out of *his* band in the mid 90's. It's like Mick Jagger pushing the rest of the Rolling Stones out of the band and bringing in a bunch of new musicians and sticking with the band name.

Add to that the fact Axl's band has released a grand total of *one* new studio album (which wasn't very good) in over 2 decades and has essentially toured for over a decade mostly on the back of the classic music with a ridiculously bloated band and it should be pretty clear why there's such a large number of (former) fans who despise Axl.

Speaking for myself, I'm curious about this new BD, mostly for the 3D concert factor and will probably pick it up this week. But GnR dropped off my radar a long, long time ago as a favorite band.

It has nothing to do with "loyalty" and everything to do with liking Guns N' Roses but not wanting to deal with a washed up, burnt out Axl Rose whose blown-out voice sounds like he's been cleaning his throat with a bottle brush for the past twenty years.

Speaking about line-up changes and specifically these two bands, I prefered Ronnie James Dio vocally for Sabbath and the Mark III line-up for Purple. The Mark IV line-up was also very good. Tommy Bolin was a very underrated guitarist.

Read some earlier posts about loyalty and whatnot and i find it hysterical!! I was a teen when gnr were at their peak during the 90's and everyone on the gnr ride back then knew that axl rose had serious problems about what he thought that band should be and that it was a matter of time before it all came to an end. Im just glad i got to see them back in 1992 on the guns n metallica tour. It was a great show but of course gnr came on about an hour and a half late, which was par for the course for them during that last year they were together. It wasnt because of the other members of course, it was due to rose which is one of the reasons that izzy left the band back in 1991.

I was in Vegas during their shows at Hard Rock and I did not hesitate.....to keep driving past it. I do not doubt that they put on a great show post Slash but, I could not listen to Chinese Democracy. I remember listening to Appetite for Destruction for the first time and I could smell the alcohol fumes and cocaine powder coming from the speakers. What an amazing album!
