I have not seen every single Best Picture winner, but here are my top 10 choices from the ones I have seen (in no particular order).

01. Casablanca
02. All About Eve
03. On The Waterfront
04. The Godfather
05. One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
06. Annie Hall
07. The Deer Hunter
08. The Silence Of The Lambs
09. American Beauty
10. No Country For Old Men

It Happened One Night and The Lost Weekend are also great winners.

04. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975)
05. The Silence of the Lambs (1991)
06. Unforgiven (1992)
07. Titanic (1997)
08. Chicago (2002)
09. The Departed (2006)
10. The Artist (2011)

Maybe the mods can join this with the other original thread. It's only fair to that poster. I didn't see that thread when I posted this. Thanks!

The Deer Hunter
The French Connection
The Godfather
Ordinary People
The Sting
The Silence of the Lambs
The Departed
12 Years A Slave
In The Heat Of The Night
No Country For Old Men

That was tough, the four that could, on a given day, have a good shot at cracking the top 10 are, Hamlet, On the Waterfront, The Bridge on the River Kwai, and Braveheart. Deer Hunter at #1 is undisputed, though.

For the record, I would say the worst film to get the award is Forrest Gump, and it's not even close.

That one is 20, this one is 10, so I don't think you should sweat it.

Forrest Gump is entertaining as hell, it has near flawless pacing, awesome effects for it's time (Zemekis who's flipping earned that), Tom Hanks showing that he is maybe the greatest actor ever as well, comedy, drama, war, meaning of life, being respectful and yourself tons of great stuff in there, sacrifice, optimism. Perfect soundtrack. Who else could pull that role off? Yeah, no one else.

Oh man the bridge on the river kwai is great it shows us what really happens to POW's you become a a total slave, and thousands become murdered for the regime baby. And hell all you got to show for it is a bridge! Or if filmed today an oil field.

Not gonna argue over deer hunter
