Default Gone Girl (2014) - David Fincher - Early 2015

This is the official thread for David Fincher's Gone Girl, starring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike.
To be released on Blu-ray by 20th Century Fox in early 2015.

Quote:
GONE GIRL -- directed by David Fincher and based upon the global bestseller by Gillian Flynn -- unearths the secrets at the heart of a modern marriage. On the occasion of his fifth wedding anniversary, Nick Dunne (Ben Affleck) reports that his beautiful wife, Amy (Rosamund Pike), has gone missing. Under pressure from the police and a growing media frenzy, Nick's portrait of a blissful union begins to crumble. Soon his lies, deceits and strange behavior have everyone asking the same dark question: Did Nick Dunne kill his wife?

Try visiting the site on the billboard. And the phone number also works.

Yeah, it's a bit early since there's zero info on a release. I think you just wanted the credit for starting the thread j/k

Movie looks to be good; I hope they changed the ending personally, I would have preferred if (not really spoilers but ymmv) there was a little more ambiguity about the passages of the diary in the second section of the book leaving you confused whether you should take that or the first one as fact until the third act. Maybe they've come up with something good, seems like they're wisely focusing on the ambiguity of the superior first act.

2. I do agree that too many threads are created based on hints, speculation, and other "information" that frankly is not substantiated. Seems like a few members want to be first to create threads. This just clutters the forum with bad info and we need moderate this more aggressively. As a matter of fact, I posted a reminder to the other mods about this just a couple of days ago.

first it started out that as soon as a movie hit theaters, people were racing to start BD threads even with no pre-orders or announcements up.
Now it's moved to threads starting on the day the very first images from the movie release are even made public??

Someone may as well start a Star Wars Episode 9 BD thread.
It's bound to be released in the next 6 years or so, so may as well get on that right
The mods have already warned the entire Forum about this "I want to be the OP!" behavior.

I simply created this thread because I'm excited about this release. Knowing Fincher's release schedule, a late January 2015 Blu-ray release is very likely. Although given the content, I wouldn't be surprised if it was released in early February for Valentine's Day.

Too many people are sh*tting bricks about members starting threads early. What's wrong with having a thread for something that will obviously get a definite release, and then add information as it goes along? All the naysayers need to get over themselves. It's not like I'm starting a thread for some 70s grindhouse triple feature that only three people know about and want on Blu-ray.

And the thing about the forums getting too crowded: are there not like tens/hundreds of pages on this subforum already?

Isn't a wish list for films we'd like to see on bluray that there's no real guarantee of seeing?

I think we can 99.9999999999% guarantee we'll see Gone Girl on bluray in the future.

Of course it'll be coming to blu-ray in the future, but if that's the logic, then literally the second any title gets dropped as an upcoming studio feature, people can rush to post about it first here and then just say "More info TBA". what's the point of that then?
Same analogy stated earlier applies here: all the new Star Wars movies are definitely going to be released, we know that. Someone then may as well create threads for their theatrical releases....and box set releases....and special edition box set releases.......and deluxe super special edition box set with new cover art releases......
etc.

It probably was moved to the "wish list" section because of some obvious facts,
a) the trailer was literally released yesterday. that's about all there is for this movie thus far. A trailer.
b) this thread would have been much more suited in the "Movies" section, where upcoming movies are discussed.
Not the "Blu-ray Movies - North America" section which says "Discuss Blu-ray movies, announcements, release dates, etc for the US and Canada.", none of which applies to this title as it hasn't even been promoted for more than a day, let alone fit any of that other criteria.

I didn't realise it had been moved from Blurays - North America to Wish Lists.
It doesn't belong in either.
Like you say, this belongs in Movies - simple as that.

It should remain here in the Wish Lists subforum, and then be moved to the main Blu-ray page when the pre-order is announced in October.

This thread should be deleted. Plain and simple. Placeholder threads are not allowed on this forum. Starting this thread in the main secton was beyond ridiculous btw.

I will check this out before making a purchase. Some scenes were filmed in Cape, an hour from me. I wanted to check it out but didn't get the chance. The local news shared photos of Ben and Tyler.
