So after recently purchasing a PS3 for the blu-ray aspect of it . I was happy with the games and picture quality . However , after watching our first blu-ray disc ( The Eye ) , i am extremely upset that 5.1 audio was only offered in spanish !!! Its bad enough that when you call somewhere that has an automated phone system you have to chose if you want english , and i understand that to get the full affect , i should have a 7.1 receiver . I have a 6.1 receiver and feel that if audio is going to be offered in 5.1 on blu-ray disc's , that it should be available in english ( the majority language ) , or offered both . Now please dont think i am any kind of a racist . I just dont believe that i just had to watch a movie in standard 2 channel sound on our new blu-ray player because it was only available in spanish 5.1 audio . Does anyone know if any other movies are this way , and if so please list them maybe in this post . I really dont want to purchase or rent any movies that will not let me have 5.1 in english . Sorry if my first post is a rant , but we just couldnt believe this and are very upset with this .

So i went and looked at some of the new releases for blu-ray and saw that some are offering 5.1 as an audio choice in english and some are not , who decides this and what the hell are they thinking . I mean , lets not have any kind of standard here , lets just release some movies some way and other movies another way . I think that all releases should offer 5.1 and 7.1 in both languages . Blu-ray is supposidly going to be the winner between the hd wars and i cannot believe how if there is no audio standard !!! Has no one else had this issue yet ???

...you have incorrect settings somewhere.
...or you are just unaware. What receiver are you using? You should select the Dts-HD Master audio on the disc. It is fully backwards compatible with existing systems. Depending on your setup and connections its just a matter of setting it right. |

i really hope it is just a setting , but i have not found it yet . I have checked the audio setting in the ps3 setup and it is set to bitsream , and so far , all of my games are playing in dts . This is the first movie i have tried to watch and if you are watching the movie , you can swith it from 7.1 master and all i get is 2 chann audio ,l but if i switch it to 5.1 spanish , my receiver kicks in to 5.1 mode .
