Japan H.R. Giger Tribute Blu-ray Collection / Alien: Japanese Dub Complete Edition

20th Century Fox Japan will release a special Blu-ray collection of the Alien series to commemorate the legendary H.R. Giger in Japan on November 5th, 2014.

The release is set to include an edition of Alien with archival Japanese dubbing track(s). This disc will also be released in its own separate edition with a collector's box and Japanese dubbing script(s) on the same day.

These "Japanese Dub Collector's Editions" have been released several times in Japan, and you could fully expect the video encode to be identical to the current Alien BD. Nevertheless, because the disc requires a new encode, Fox will provide English (non-SDH) and Japanese subtitles only.

Other films included will be Aliens, Alien³, Alien: Resurrection along with the two bonus BDs from the Alien Anthology, and Prometheus in both Blu-ray 3D and 2D Blu-ray, as well as the Prometheus Bonus BD. These eight other discs should be identical to the Japanese editions already on the market.

Note: Amazon.co.jp may have jumped the gun on a possible worldwide release, since these have disappeared from Amazon within minutes of my adding them to the database.

Price crashed on this to around $100. I have preordered and will decide later if I'll keep the order.

Really tempted by McCrutchy's suggestion of a new encode. At the current price of 6000Y (about $55 for me in Japan) even the packaging (Giger ed.) is tempting, but I would really need at least a new, slightly better encode to justify it. My dream is that someone will one day do a release with the pre-tampered color scheme. R Scott himself comments on his giving the film a green n gold (teal n orange?) push for the special "director's cut" ed, which is sadly present on the theatrical as well.
Hope someone is able to get this and compare PQ while the price is good.
If it has any bearing on this new ed, I had the 2011 JP Fox Premium ed with one JP dub. That one did look a bit different from the US BD. It had more contrast, which looked nice in a some dark shots, but looked overblown in others.
