Default Anyone here own arcade cabinets?

Didn't see a thread for this, but after all of these years, I'm FINALLY the proud owner of two arcade cabinets! Specifically, the first two Mortal Kombat games! The only downside is that they have to reside at my parents' for the time being, as I have no space in my townhouse... that, and the joysticks are a pinch too loose on MKII, trying to figure out how to fix that.

But yeah, anyone else lucky enough to snag an arcade cabinet for any game? Ranging from Pong to Tekken 6, doesn't matter

Check local newspaper ads, as that's how I got mine! This guy was selling a bunch of old school arcade games out of a storage unit, and I knew I had to have those two! He also had the rare and infamous Bloodstorm, which if I had more money/space, I would've jumped right on it!

The only other option is eBay, but of course freight costs just as much as the cabinets

i've got a double dragon and altered beast machine. double dragon had monitor and sound problems but i finally got around to fixing the sound. just need to throw on a cap kit on the monitor i think. altered beast doesn't want to do anything after sitting in the garage over the winter :/ still too cold to mess with though so that'll have to wait

i need to get back into these things. you can usually find machines pretty cheap on craigslist

edit: if you scroll down just a tiny bit in this forum, you'll see a arcade machine thread with 128 posts

Crap, figures... I got too excited

Well, like I said, my only issue right now is trying to figure out how to tighten the joysticks on MKII. The joysticks function perfectly on the first MK, but they're too loose on MKII, making special attacks a pain to pull off!

The one I would really love to have is the old Mrs. Pac-Man/Galaga table top style, where a player can sit on each end of it like the one in the pic.

My wife's uncle has one but one or more of the video components in it are going out as it no longer displays proper colors.

Always wanted a Clutch Hitter cabinet, since I have never seen it emulated and it was never oficially released on a console.

Yes, I've got a Donkey Kong and a Pacman. Restored both of them. Used to have a Centipede and a Super Cobra but sold them a while back. I have built a MAME cabinet from scratch as well.

Looking to build a MAME cabinet again - possibly this summer. If I ever get a bigger house I may look at getting more cabinets. My user name comes from I love arcade cabinets and restoring them (and that I am a forester by profession).

well done!!. MK II is an all time favourite, I just loved the art direction and the beautiful and eerie music. Much the same for MK III.

have only beat this with three characters with one credit.

Friday, I bought a Galaxian arcade machine. I thought it was a Galaga machine at first, but it's its predecessor Galaxian that was converted into a Galaga machine many years ago. It was in rough shape, no power supply, no main board, missing the marque, and unknown status for everything else.

That is pretty much my dream list too! Throw in Mortal Kombat, Crazy Taxi, and the Terminator 2 arcade game, and I would be pretty set!

I bought a generic six button two player cabinet a few years ago, worked for street fighter 2 and marvel v capcom. I let my friend borrow it for a party, we put it in one of his rooms and have NEVER been able to get it back out. I remember angling it to get it in but years later, no one has been able to get it out of that room. May have tried, none have succeeded

I'd really love one of these too! But right now I don't have the budget or space for one.

For now, I have my icade.

I have a MAME cabinet that was restored from a busted up Street Fighter 2.

Took the pc out recently to run emulators off of the big screen as I have just now discovered VGA to HDMI connectors. Not sure what to do with the cab, might try to sell it or keep it in the family for fun with the nephews.

Its my pinball that will never leave my possession.

Almost through my restoration process on my project. I still need to reassemble everything and then strip the artwork and replace it. However, I do have it working now.

the only arcade component I own is an old Neo Geo MVS of Alpha Mission 2. redundant now in the age of "300 games in one cabinet", which I have seen entire lists of Neo Geo games including AM.
