Enjoy - the build quality is just amazing isn't it? As soon as I unboxed it they exceeded my expectation from the start. I knew they had built something really special. This really was Ken's pinnacle of design ... real care and attention to detail went into this baby..far more than any of their previous consoles.

Have a blast..

Yes, not the main reason I bought it - but when I saw the news that an update was going to be released to allow upconverting - I decided to finally jump!

Yes it did. It is amazing. Its sleek, smooth, heavy (in a good way), quiet and black! So very nice. Intuitive interface.

Hell, I had the wireless connection up and running in just a few clicks of the remote. Update done in about 5 mins.

Only minor MINOR complaint is the non inclusion of HDMI/Optical cable. At this price point, would be nice. But hell - an up converting BD player, game system and more - I am not complaining.

I am off to Target to get some cables to hook this bad boy up!

Yes you are but that's a legitimate complaint. I think come the holiday season they will probably start including one.

By the way there are sites like monoprice that are much less expensive than retail brand names..but then you would have to wait

PS3 was my first exposure to the XMB and it's an awesome interface..now that I have a PSP it's even better since they are almost identical in layout and navigation.

congrats on your Playstation 3! I'm luving it, 1080p resolution is awesome, games & blu-ray movies are awesome, you can use your PS3 to help mankind by using folding@home, store your photos in widescreen format, play MP3 music with nice visualization, browse the internet...

Thank you, thank you all! I feel like I belong here now

Picked up an 8ft optical and an 8ft HDMI for 60 bux at Target. GE brand. Cheaper than BB, I can tell you that much.

Also picked up Night At The Museum as well for my "first official BD movie"

God I am so excited. Maybe I am crazy but its like christmas times 100 for me.
