Ah, I forgot about that one! But seriously, posting pre-orders that far ahead is just ridiculous.

probably not as ridiculous if you think how soon movies come out though. the blu-ray will probably be in sept or oct so a pre-order isn't that far away. it's just a setup to having the movie come out on Blu-ray right after it's released in theaters (which is how I think the industry is moving)..

Yup. The theatrical release is really just a marketing campaign for the home video and streaming release.

True. I remember in the day when a movie would go to theater and you wouldn't see a home video release for like 5 or 6 months. Now it's like 2 months, which is good in a way since I don't care for going to the theater. I do hope this comes out on BD soon though, as I want it before I even see it.

It kinda started with 1989's Batman. The industry was shocked that Warner released the VHS tape six months after it started showing in theaters. Also, it was a sell-through title instead of being priced for rental ($100).

It's accelerated since then. Wasn't Soderbergh's Bubble the first movie from a major filmmaker that was released simultaneously in theaters, DVD, and VOD?
