Can't find much info on the 2014 set . There also new blu stand alone with a strange cover of the 68 film . I have the 2011 set , Takes up a lot of room . I like this new set with 5 blu's in one case . are there any differences ? why did they release the 68 by its self with a cover that i think is from the wrong movie . is it restored ? is the extended beneath in the new legacy set?

I just got this set and am disappointed to find the 4 sequels are taken from the same transfers as the dvds. Is it at all possible they all played cinemas without a Fox fanfare at the head of the film? I don't think so.
It may be a minor thing, but it does dent the theatrical experience a little for me. |

20th Century Fox just distributed them. They were APJAC Productions and Fox didn’t acquire the rights until after Arthur P. Jacobs died, which made the 1974 TV series the first 20th Century Fox Planet of the Apes production.

I got my "Patton" blu ray and noticed the same, no fanfare before the film. Also my "Seven Ups" blu. Maybe a 70s thing.

Yeah, in the early 70's Twentieth Century Fox didn't use the opening fanfare for a lot of their films. Two more examples: The Poseidon Adventure ('72) and The Towering Inferno ('74).
