Lifetime is out. We and Logo have it for a second syndication cycle.
Article.
We. That's what I meant. We and Lifetime are the same thing to me

I'm not sure what episodes you're watching that have extra scenes that aren't on the DVD's but I think you might be mistaken.
There are 2 episodes I can remember for sure that are missing scenes, the one where Karen & Jack are following Stan around to see if he's cheating & the one where Karen tries to win Rosario back from Beverly Leslie. When WB switched to The CW the old WB channel turned into MyTV12 and they started playing Will & Grace, they showed a few scenes that I didn't see in the DVD versions.

The first episode you're talking about is presented on the DVD collection as it was originally aired. It was "Supersized." When they put it into syndication (and repeats), they split it into two complete episodes and added footage. So it depends on how you look at it.

For sure. Funny too...as I never really liked the show for years. Only started watching late last year through to now. I watch so little TV, but just happen to catch it on that We channel during it's 4 hour time slot or something like that. Some of those episodes are really, really funny. I guess I understand the characters better now.

The first 4 seasons are some of the BEST that sitcoms can offer. There's very few episodes that aren't fantastic. The 5th season is good but not as great. And 6-8 are VERY hit and miss. Mostly miss...aside from the episode with Diane (Leo's Ex and the only woman Will ever slept with). That entire episode is better than anything in those 3 seasons. Probably one of the best ever.

Doubt it will ever be put on Blu-ray. I would settle for new DVD releases. By new I mean new, not the old DVDs in updated packaging. I had Seasons 1-4 when they came out. I had to exchange two seasons because they kept freezing up and skipping, and one disc kept saying disc error and would not load. After the third time I gave up. The second and third exchanges froze and skipped, but at different parts in different episodes than the first set I had. I seen a lot of reviews with the same issue.

Lot of missing footage also.

I have my doubts that it'll ever see a blu release as well, but I'm with ya on a re-release. I owned the box set and the existing DVDs are just awful. One of the worst releases I think I've ever seen, if not the worst. From the picture quality to missing footage - the existing DVDs are a complete and total mess from top to bottom. As much as love the show, I really regretted spending any money on the set once I actually viewed them.

A Blu release wouldn't shock me, especially with NBC (who owns the show) and Lionsgate (who released the initial DVD sets) working together on the Little House on the Prairie Blu sets.

Well, we now have HD masters for 1/2 the series. The problem is twofold: are they going to do the first 4 seasons AND are they able to insert the missing footage into the incomplete episodes, the majority of which are seasons 4 and 5, if I remember correctly.

On my PS3, all the seasons are listed as HD - but they've just been upscaled to look slightly better than the DVD. Everything from S4 to S8 are definitely in widescreen, however.

Season 4, Episode 1:

Season 5, Episode 1:

Wow. Season 4 too?
VERY interesting! This is the first time season 4 has shown up in widescreen. That just leaves the first 3 seasons!
Thanks!

Random question: does anyone have this set?
