Default Monster Central Theater & Lighting Control

I am looking at getting the Monster Central Control System for my home theater and was wondering if anyone has an opinion about it.

My home theater consists of:
Mitsubishi 73' DLP
PS3 w/ Blu Wave Remote
Sony 7.1 A/V Reciever (Pre HDMI)
2 - Sony 400 Disc DVD Changers
Local Provider Cable Box

I am looking for a remote control system that will include lighting controls.

Oh and BTW, I already know that universal remotes can't power on/off my PS3

never seen one... I have a Pronto TSU 9600 and it controls lighting although I don't use it for that..... I'm sure you're aware of the IR-To-Blu-Tooth thing for the PS3 too.

Monster equals one thing and that is way over priced.

You still can't power your PS3 on and off because the USB ports aren't active when the system is switched off. So the usb ir thing just lets you control it with your universal remote.

I would suggest doing a graphic eye system and then running an ir or RS232 wire to the graphic eye. Less expensive, pretty easy to install. This can be made to work with any remote.

Why not just get a harmony (I think most models will control lights), and a set of Lutrons?

The Monster remotes are designed/built very much the same as harmony, run the same price, and perform the same functions, but they also have the lovely ability to control monster's proprietary remote lighting (the switches for which i have grown to love)

but in my experience with them, they are bigger and uglier than the harmony remotes... if that makes a difference to you

My pronto is sexy.... but it's big, and difficult to control (in my opinion)

What model.. I have a monster AV700 power center & a Panamax (forgot the model) I was ready to sell my Panamax & go with the monsters but I A/Bed them, & noticed the noise floor was much lower with my Panamax.. So I decided to keep it... Panamx is a better choice then Monster IMO..

I use my Harmony to control all my lights (3 Lutron switches/20 lights) - I have total control over the lighting and can include them in the macros. Is there something different that Monster offers? It has always been my experience that whatever product Monster sells, you can find something better and cheaper.

the only difference with the monster lighting is the look of the switches (not a lot different either) but as for the remotes... you might as well get the Harmony cuz its the same price, does all the same things, and its a bit more attractive... my point was just that if you were partial to the design of the monster switches you would have to get the monster remote to control them
