One of these will be my new Blu-ray player. I'm just "borrowing" a friends player for now, but I have been very happy with Pioneer line. Here is a brief comparison between the two units, and not sure if there's a $200 diff. But you do get a 2-year warranty on the Elite line vs. the 1-year on the standard line.

I think Panasonic will have a hard time competing against these machines, even at their prices. The wild card now is Sony and their 550 unit.

The BDP-51FD will ship to retailers in July. SRP = $699

This part of the statement has grabbed my attention. I have a 5010 Kuro and would love to know what they mean by this. I assume if it senses a 1080i source it will deinterlace, or a 720p source, it will scale to 1080P. But if it is feeding a 1080P source, then what does it do? Right now, I use the 'dot by dot' mode for NO overscan when I watch BD's. Does this mean, it will automatically pick 'dot by dot'? Very interesting quote there.

Before you switch too soon, it's already been leaked that Pioneer will be releasing a flagship model BD-Live player this fall. Could be pricy, but if your 95 is working for now, may want to wait before jumping to the 05-FD.
