Just wanting to know if there is any chance this would release on blu ray! I think this should release on blu ray as it is one of the best comedies ever! No matter how many times you watch this film you never get bored!
Please share your thoughts on this film! |

From the screenshots I've seen, it looks like an upscale of the shemaroo DVD version, with better quality (i.e., brighter and colorful). Doesn't look like a True HD mastering to me. Looks as good as DEi prints, without edge enhancement.

Seriously? If this is what HD channels look like I'm glad my family is not spending on HD cable because this looks like smeary crap to me.

What a coincidence!.
I also had a look at AAA on NetFlix yesterday . Quality looks much better than DVD. Bright and colourful, but I noticed some artifacts on noise and colour bleed. I saw the DVD just a few days back while we were on vacation and must say the NetFlix version is not bad. I hope the BD will have better quality if it ever gets a release. |

^ The Shemaroo version had poor colors (faces appeared green on a few instances). The sharpness was semi-decent, IMO. As prepress bro stated in his post, the DEi version was the best.
Reasons were : - Direct film to NTSC (24 fps) encoded; hence, progressive. - Had better colors, not greenish and ugly. - Sharpness and detail was good. - Audio was in its original fomat (i.e., mono) The saddest thing was that it was a non-anamorphic DVD, cropped heavily on the sides, to about an aspect ratio of 1.90:1 The one by Netflix seems to top it all. Detail and sharpness could've been better, but this is the best form of Andaz Apna Apna. |
