Yeah, Kojima is a bit, uh, long-winded, to be kind about it.

You know things are bad when he has to put in a mini-game in cut-scenes to keep people engaged.
*EDIT* Wow, this is creepy as hell. I can't believe I actually jumped the first time I peered in a door and a cockroach came out. lol Last edited by Terjyn; 08-13-2014 at 12:43 AM. |

Strange way to deliver some rather big news... But I dig it. A Silent Hill announcement with Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro attached to it would've been big new today. Instead Sony goes all sneaky about it with a freaky interactive trailer/demo.
I hope more info is released this week since the cat is now out of the bag. |

the demo/interactive teaser was super creepy. Played it twice, and both times it was pretty different. Awesome....

You can examine objects with R3. Some objects you can modify with X, but not many. Generally, you look at things in search of clues and, in the process, clues will come looking for you.

pay attention to the main stuff. Clock, plant - a phone, the dresser under the swinging light (with the keys), etc.
each time you go through the one door and come out the other side, something will happen....and once it does, go through it again and so on. First time took me over an hour - no clue what I was looking for. 2nd time = under ten minutes...lol |

I hope we get the demo on the EU store later today.
I'm sold on this game due to the fact that we're playing as Daryl. As for the first person gameplay, I'm not quite sold on that aspect since SH has pretty much been third person despite The Room, but it's not something that's going to put me off. |

Won't lie. This games super creepy. Was playing at night, and the DS4, ominos koans etc. don't help.
I switched off after a bit. Going to try again. I have to say, Horror games like this are more scary than any damn movie out there. Its because unlike movies where you just 'watch' and can 'detach' from being the victim, in games you ARE the character. You control this victims actions. Nightmares NEVER offer you control, and a typical trope in games is also a profound lack of control whivh is what makes true horror games more inherently scary. |
