Default Target Ticket

I was at Target today and they had a sign up for Target Ticket in the movies section. It said "A digital copy with every movie". I know I've seen a couple melinium studios titles with Target Ticket codes, but I can't imagine they would have way to give a TT copy with every movie. A quick scan of their shelves showed very few came with codes that weren't regular UV or DC+ copies. Anyone else seen this sign or know what it's about. Definitely seems too good to be true.

Its like Walmart's Vudu promotion, basically Ultraviolet digital copies but with a TT sticker to brand it to Target and push awareness for Target Ticket.

I'll try to remember to look for the sign tomorrow when I head over to Target. Besides the occasional sticker on a new release and that credit promo they had with some TV seasons a few weeks back, I don't recall Target Ticket having much presence in the stores I've been in.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's just some poor attempt to define what Target Ticket is to the average shopper. Target Ticket - A digital copy with every movie!

Yeah, I'm guessing a poorly worded sign to promote the service. I had to do a double take when I saw it. It definitely reads like "we are giving you a digital copy with every movie, take that Vudu!" but in reality it's probably "90% of new releases come with codes you can redeem on our movie site". I still like to redeem new releases through them because of the bonus features they give with most new releases. Sucks I can't watch TT on my TV since I have a PS3, AppeTV and chromecast. The 3 devices TT seems to be avoiding like the plague.

well if it says EVERY, and it doesnt come with every movie, that's just false advertising.

Try a Roku, it does all of them. TT will never be allowed on apple tv.

I'm hoping for Airplay. I though the same about Vudu and Flixster until they started allowing Airplay. I'm not naive enough to think they would allow Vudu, TT, CN etc to exist on the appleTV.

I'm just not willing to shell out more money for another device just for Target Ticket.

Well this is funny. I realized I forgot to pick up some stuff so I went back to Target today. I was going to snap a pic of the sign. It's gone now. They replaced it with a sign for TV shows sets. It was definitely there yesterday. Weird. Maybe they weren't supposed to have it out or maybe they got complaints due to the confusing wording?

If by "they" you mean Apple, I think the app developer chooses whether to enable AirPlay, not Apple.

Apple is probably OK with a UV streaming-only app on AppleTV. They have no problem with those apps on their large base of iOS devices, so why be concerned about the much smaller AppleTV platform? And iTunes remains affixed to the top of the AppleTV menus. The reasons there aren't any UV apps are probably technical (DRM? CDN? not enough AppleTV developers?) and financial (are there fees involved with AppleTV development, deployment, or screen placement?).
