My PS3 heats my house! - Blu-ray Forum

My AC runs almost every minute that my PS3 and TV are on, and almost never when they are off...

For a long time I thought my thermostat was broke, because my apt would be cold as hell and it would be set on 85.

Then I put two and two together. The problem is that the TV and PS3 sit RIGHT UNDER the thermostat (about 3 feet)

The heat from them causes a local rise of about 10 or 15 degrees easy.

Ha. I wish it was winter so I could use that :-p

u should set a bag of microwave popcorn on there, u can game and have a snack....

I've discovered that if you leave the system on overnight, you can pull out a pack of bacon and eggs and cook them right on the top of the machine.

It can also be used as a replacement spark welder if you are in a jam and need a quick fix.

seriously though....thats what i do when my rom is cold...i turn on my ps3 and play music...

ahh yes, the old sound turns to heat routine. Even most musicians i know haven't figured that one out yet. They think it's all cause they have they're hi powered heads and amps cranked up. That definitely helps, but it's the actual sound waves that really gets you sweating.

my problem is that my 46 sony bravia tv makes my house really hot.
i dont know about the ps3, but im sure about my tv because i can feel the heat like 2 feet away from the tv, so that means im set for winter.

I have that issue kinda...my ps3 is in my bedroom and it adds 15 degrees too. I do know my system is not hot...the fan is 98% of the time at normal speed not on high speed. My tv not sure how much it gives off but i know is a bit less maybe.

I have a 46 inch Sony Bravia and a 60 GB PS3, and that come does heat things up a bit.

I've got a 60gb and that sucker does heat up. One of the reasons I added a standalone.
