i would really like to know if somebody here knows if The X-Files Movie (Fight The Future) and possibly the second to be on Blu-Ray??

probably......just about everything will be coming, just a matter of when....if its not listed in the movies section:

Bill Hunt has mentioned it as coming this year. Since it's obviously not coming in time for the sequel's theatrical premiere, I guess we can expect it before Christmas for the sequel's home video release...

I don't know when it'll be released, but I do know that it doesn't bother me so much, however I will be buying it as I'm a huge X-Files fan.

The new movie will very definitely be day and date.
It's highly likely they'll do a re-release of the Fight the Future movie at the same time as well.

Yes it will be released. Actually, it appeared on the Dutch releaselist last week (along with Walk the Line 2-disc).

Releasedates in the Netherlands will be:

both titles belongs to 20th century fox. knowing Fox, there is a huge chance that once X Files 2 is not in theatres anymore, fox will announce The first and the second movie for a BD release.

also, you do know that the 2nd X files movie is broken down to 3 parts, so it is possible after all the parts are released there will be a 4 or 5 discs collector's edition.

I had not heard this. Can you elaborate? Are you saying there are going to be 3 movies to tell the story of the second movie?

I am a huge x-files fan but have purposely not read a lot of information about the new movie partially because the marketing for the first movie gave a completely different impression of what the movie was going to be.

At the moment, all I've heard is that if this second movie is a success, there will be a third movie, but that's only if Chris Carter decides it's successful enough to have a third instalment.

I thought if this movie was a success that it would turn into a trilogy NOT including Fight The Future - ie, three NEW movies including this year's.

yeah, apparently the upcoming movie, that is the one coming out in couple weeks is a part of a trilogy. i kid you not.

I just hope that as a fan after all these years, I will like the new movie, which of course, I'm sure I will.

But it's strange seeing a pretty much whole new cast with no John Dogget or Monica, they pretty much started this movie from the last one.

Xzibit should be fun to watch, from the trailers it looks like he might actually suit the role, plus Amanda Peet.
