Do I wish it had more Godzilla? Yes. Was it awful? Far from it. Still a very entertaining movie. When Godzilla was on screen it was amazing.

Yes. The 20 minutes that Godzilla is onscreen are good.
The rest of the film though, well, no.

Yes, the 3D version will be included, don't worry.

Seriously though, the second time I watched it I liked it a lot more because I wasn't just sitting there in anticipation of Godzilla being on screen. The first time it felt that way, so every time anything other than that was on screen I was slightly irritated (thanks for spoiling us Pacific Rim ) but for the second time, I already knew not expect him too much so I was able to enjoy the entire movie much more.

I have not seem the film yet, as I'm waiting for the BD release. Obviously I've gathered that it's a slow burn type of film, with decent acting and a pretty good story, so I'm looking forward to it.
If I wanted 120 mins of all out destruction, I could always pop in a Bay film or play countless video games.

My thoughts exactly ..

Don't read if you haven't seen the film ::

[Show spoiler]I thought the movie was going to be Godzilla vs Mankind, like Cloverfield was ... Instead it turned out to be Godzilla vs MUTO .. I would even say that MUTO probably got more airtime than Godzilla himself ! ... And in the end scene where people are actually cheering Godzilla on .. I mean, WTF ?!

I guess I'll add this to the ones I already signed up for in Kevin's GB.

Thanks for the info.

In the old 70's version, there were time when Godzilla was cheered on. So what's the problem?

Was and still am hoping for Edge of Tomorrow because the WWA is terrible but I predicted we would get Godzilla and I'm not unhappy with it. I may cancel my Germany steel preorder now. I have seen some images of the futurepack and even though I hate them I admit that the embossing is impressive and I might get that too to hold me over till I can get the blufans.

This movie is way too mediocre to justify a BF release, if this steelbook continues to fruition, ill be surprised.

You're using a narrative plotpoint of one movie to defend another?

They almost released Need For Speed.......'nuff said.

This was 1000x better than than Fast and Furious knock off.

I'm just happy it wasn't one of the Transformers films.

The point is that they both did the same thing whether you liked it or not.

If the movie was so bad, then the studio shouldn't have made it. But it made money and they are doing a sequel.

Yeah, but you're using it as an argument as if it exempts Godzilla '14 of being at fault plotwise; which it doesn't.

Yes, and they came to their senses, thank god. Im also glad they arent releasing a Transformers movie, i never got into them like i did the cartoon back in the day. Godzilla isnt a bad movie, my son and i went back to see it twice even. It just doesnt quite seem like a good enough film to make it through the years and come out great, like some do. It kinda seems like it could just die off. But thats my initial feeling, and i could be wrong, but the BF release of this certainly seems quite rushed, but hell, id take this over NFS anyday.
