Redeem Code and get Bonus Features?

I redeemed a code for The Lego Movie recently. I was expecting to get the bonus features, however I got the version that came with an episode of Ninjango, which I don't care about. This is the version with bonus features that I was expecting to get when I redeemed my blu-ray: http://www.vudu.com/movies/#!content...bonus-features

What has been everyone's experience with redeeming Digital HD codes? Do you usually get the version that comes with bonus features? Poor bonus feature support for UV movies is one of the reasons I haven't gone fully digital yet.

I think with one of WB's recent releases (the last Hobbit movie maybe, or Man of Steel..?), you were able to redeem the UV code at Target Ticket and it included the bonus features. However, I haven't noticed any other codes from discs that included bonus features. Also in general, it seems as if WB is the only company thus far that has made the bonus features themselves UV enabled. I've purchased a couple WB UV movies direct through Vudu w/ credit there and the bonus features there transferred to the other UV retailers/accounts. None of the other studios have done that yet to my knowledge.

Why did you expect to get the bonus features as well? Did the code sheet say that it unlocks those bonus features?

99% of the time, you don't get bonus features with pack in UV codes. There are retailer exclusive codes that will provide exclusive digital content like Star Trek: Into Darkness and The Wolverine.

However, etailers like Target Ticket will give you the same digital exclusive extras that are available with a standard digital purchase when you redeem a code. Make sure to pick the Bonus Features edition when redeeming it. The Lego Movie actually includes two UV enabled extras when redeemed on Target Ticket.

It's this kind of stuff that's so frustrating with UltraViolet. I just want a digital version of my DVD or Blu-ray, including bonus features. iTunes Extras is perfect. Why is everything with UV so messy?

I redeemed The Desolation of Smaug EE on Target Ticket using the "with bonus features" option and it gave me three bonus features:
-The Appendices Part 9: Into The Wilderland: The Chronicles Of The Hobbit - Part 2 (300 min.)
-The Appendices Part 10: The Journey To Erebor (309 min.)
-New Zealand: Home of Middle Earth - Part 2 (8 min.)

The New Zealand featurette is UV and transferred to Vudu.

I don't know when I'm going to have a chance to watch the 10+ hrs of bonus content but it's nice to have.

WAIT A MINUTE, Is that True??!!! You can redeem the "+ bonus features" editions of movies on Target Ticket???!!! If I had known that that I wouldn't have been wasting money redeeming movie codes on Vudu (& sometimes Flixster). I might have to rebuy codes for UV movies that I already own that have special features because there was not an option to redeem the "+ special features edition" on Vudu with a UV code.

Yes, but it doesn't look like there are a ton of movies that may offer this. And the features offered may be the same that you get from Vudu's Extras+ in many cases anyway. I suspect these might give bonus features but I can't say for sure and more info is needed on what you get:

The only thing I don't like about getting the special features from Target Ticket is that when they port to Vudu, they show up as separate movies in the my movies list. I wish they would just add them to the movie they go with.

I understand why it happens, but since I like to keep my movies on Vudu less cluttered, I have quit redeeming for the special features. It's too bad we can't create our own folders in Vudu or hide items.

Yeah, that's lame. You should send feedback to Vudu. Hopefully if enough people complain they'll fix it. I really wish bonus features were handled better by the UV providers.

Cinemanow also has has bonus features with code redemptions, probably the same movies as Target Ticket.

Some extras are not UV enabled so you can only watch them in that specific provider.

It may be worth a call to Target Ticket CS, and ask them to give Bonus Feature Version if main movie is already in UV, little chance they will do so, but you never know!
