Default "I Am Legend" Problems

Has anyone else had problems with this movie? I tried playing the alternate ending version on a Samsung BDP-1400. Every 20 minutes or so, the movie would just stop playing and turn off. I returned the movie and got another, but am having the same problem. There's a new firmware update for the 1400. Does anyone know if that corrects this problem? Thank you in advance!

The only problem I had was when I'd turn on the movie on my PS3, it would automatically start the movie after like 30 seconds, and I couldn't get back to the main menu, just the special features menu. I actually had to turn off the playback and select 'play from beginning' on my PS3 menu. No biggie I guess, just annoying.

Edit: Being that I Am Legend is a newer blu-ray, I would assume any tech support would tell you to upgrade the firmware first.

Warner titles start automatically, all of them - and have no main menu, just that Special Features menu.

How does this help him with a BD-P1400 firmware question?

I haven't played this movie on my Sammy yet. I will try it tonight if no one can answer your question before then.

Edit: Watched this last night on a BD-p1400 with most recent firware and didn't have any problems.

I've watched the alternate ending multiple times on my PS3 without issue. Latest firmware. Not exactly what you were asking for, but since you had two of the same movie botch up while others aren't having it, I'd definitely recommend you try the firmware update.

I don't recall saying it helped with a BD-P1400 firmware question. I believe his quote says 'Has anyone else had problems with this movie?' Hence me posting my problem.

I hope this clears up any confusion you had.

Ah okay thanks for clearing that up! Kind of sucks though, eh? What with other companies including the popup menus with the option to do anything from the menu while still watching the movie.

I kind of like it, actually - prevents me from slacking in the pre-movie food-acquiring area...I'm being timed!

My concern with I Am Legend is that there are two versions and if one automatically begins, the other in inaccessible without quiting playback and starting all over and quickly selecting the one you want to watch. As I said, no biggie, don't want to take over the OP's thread.
