Default Which studio would U trade for Universal?

Now, im not saying that I would, but what fierce blu ray supporters out there would be willing to trade in one studio (exclusive or nuetral) just get some universal flicks on blu-ray?
Even if you wouldn't trade let us know!

I wouldnt trade any studio for Universal. If you think about it, Universsal is the worst studio now. Hardly any of their movies are blockbusters anymore. If you think about it, most of the good movies come from Fox, Sony, and Warner, two of which are exclusive. HD DVD can keep Universal for all I care!

I would probably consider trading Lionsgate for Universal. There is no way I would even consider any of the others.

I'd trade Fox for Universal. Let hd dvd deal with a studio that won't release, in trade for a studio that is.

You should know why Fox/MGM are not releasing right now. You wouldn't want people stealing from you...would you? They are just putting extra security on their movies to prevent them from being ripped off. That's all.

I'm sure this is not what the OP was asking about...but since I've decided I'm not going to buy any Toshiba, Universal or Microsoft products (if I can avoid them ) for a while in protest for this silly "format war"...my answer is "none", as I will be losing some choices of movies....

haha

Lions Gate for sure.

But it will all be moot in another 9 months from now.

None! HD DVD got exactly what they deserved with Universal.

All of the Blu-ray studios are doing their fair share. I checked the Top 25 Blu-ray List at DVD Empire and here is how it breaks down.

1. Fox: 6.
2. Sony: 4.
3. Disney/Buena Vista: 4.
4. Lionsgate: 4.
5. Warner: 4.
6. Paramount: 2.
7. Other: 1.

A nice balance if you ask me.

I agree with most of the other posters here. Wouldn't trade any BD exclusive for Universal.

Cool

I don't even know what they distribute, so I guess I don't really miss what I'm missing. I'm sure the future for Universal looks Blu!!!

I don't know, there's heaps of movies from Universal studios that i would love to own on blu ray including

Blues Brothers
Midnight Run
Animal House
E.T.
The Mummy
The Mummy Returns
The Sting
The Fast & the Furious
Backdraft
Lock, Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels
Gladiator
Jaws
The Chronicles of Riddick
Jurassic Park
Slap Shot
Back to the Future
Best little *****house in Texas
Van Helsing
Cape Fear

+ heaps more.

I don't know what studio i would trade for Universal though.... maybe Warner if they keep releasing half arsed blu ray dvds.

I want them all!

I don't know about you all, but I could differently trade some movies on Blu-ray for some Universal titles.

Currently or coming soon on HD-DVD that I want.
Army of Darkness
The Bourne Supremacy
Bruce Almighty
The Chronicles of Riddick
Dante's Peak
Dragonheart
End of Days
Heroes Season 1
King Kong
The Mummy
The Mummy Returns
Pitch Black
The Rundown
Serenity
Troy
Van Helsing

I could easily trade some of our Blu-ray titles for some of these.

I agree. If this is still going on in December Im going to buy a Toshiba HDDVD once it its the sub $200 mark.

I only buy major releases that I really liked. These are the ones I usually watch at the movies(roughly 2 per month). I netflix the rest, so whether its on BR or HDDVD I want to watch them when Netlix has them on HD.

I am hoping Univ is neutral before then though I was really want BR to win this. I will however only be format loyal for so long.

I don't recall that ever being officially confirmed. Either way - would I trade a studio that's planning on releasing 35 movies in the next two months, for another studio that has not a single scheduled release?

Blu-ray has all the major studio support, and I wouldn't trade that for mediocre Universal ! Yes there are some Universal movies that I would like on Blu-ray. but lets face it their recent titles are not that great! It is just not worth complaining about their HD-DVD preference.
