Watcing it with DVD quality (at most) and sub-pas sound.. Sure.. It might not have been as good. People who download movies should go to the recycle bin You might have appreciated it more on Blu..

As with any other movie you can also tell from this thread that there are people who hate this movie too.. To build the suspense though, Blu-ray really helps with great visuals and a fantastic audio track. So if you are going to watch it watch it on Blu.

When I compared it to 24 I mean the suspense. I also think it is close enough to give me a short breath until the next season of 24 begins.

Oh wind your neck in. A crap movie is a crap movie, the 'Blu Placebo Effect' won't wash anymore. You can't polish a turd. Matthew Fox, stick to TV.
P.S. I apologize if this sounded overly aggressive. My red meat intake is through the roof this week.

+1. This film was terrible, and I saw it in a comfy digital stadium theater, so dont blame it on my viewing experience. One of my favorites, Forrest Whitaker looked lost in this, and the ending managed to be dull and contrived. Just ugh.

Same exact thing I experienced. Lots of groans in the theater with the constant rewinding. I truly believe the concept was good IMHO but it wasn't embraced by the majority during the viewing I went to at least.

I'd give a 7.0 for content for my two cents worth.

BTW, it's ridiculous to blind buy IMHO. You would be dealing with disappointment perhaps for movie content, PQ and AQ. Always rent when on the fence!

PQ was excellent and AQ was even better. It also got some cool PIP features.

I can recommend this movie to anyone who like a fast paced suspense/action movie. As a fan of "24" I welcome this movie since there is no "24" this year.
Thanks for the info. Definitely looking forward to this one since I haven't seen it yet.

At least I'm not the only one who didn't like it. It was a great script....just poorly exected. I mean more power to you if you want it in your blu-ray collection. Is it really going to get a lot of re-watch time? I've got The Prestige too and I think I've watched it twice since I've had it. These types of movies....once you see them...the thrill is gone.

Sometimes when watching such movie with someone who hasn't already seen it gives me at least part of the thrill.

I like this movie. It's well executed and directed. Editing, VFX, cinematography and sound design were excellent.

Good point. I feel sorry for people who haven't seen Forrest Gump. A friend of mine never saw it up to a year ago. I told him I'd pick him up and let him watch it at my place. There's just some movies that you have to see! No excuses.

It is a thrill to see them enjoy it. Then when the movies over you can recollect on it and collaborate your thoughts etc.

Even with the, common-place nowadays, editing technique of excessively fast cuts - this 1080P, using MPEG-4 AVC compression, Blu-ray from Sony looks absolutely perfect. The 2.40 widescreen ratio is accurately maintained and detail is excessively crisp and clean. What I appreciated most was the film was not especially dark and black levels weren't boosted to give that ultra-heavy contrast look we see often in high-definition transfers. The final product is about as competent as I have seen from Blu-ray (owning about 100 discs). It approached the 3-dimensional look that BRD tends to strive towards but I'd preferably just say that the image is simply flawless - without a pixel out of place. I noted no intrusive noise, it is expectantly super clean, and it strikes me as a definite bona-fide reason for the existence of this new format for home viewing. It is a stunningly pristine and consistent image.

I've never had a package show up on any other day than the expected arrival date once the item shipped.
