I'm a Canadian and I frequently purchase Blu-Rays from Amazon.com based on the sales shown on Blu-Ray.com
The new Fulfilled By Amazon prices being shown for the US movies, are items that ship individually (instead of altogether, like the items purchased directly from Amazon), which can result in higher shipping/handling fees (not just for Canadians using a US address). I personally have to pay $5 per parcel I have sent to the US, so it's a pretty big deal if I buy 6 movies and they all ship separately. That's $30 extra! Is there a way, or can there be a way to have the Fulfilled by Amazon prices turned off? I would like to only see prices shipped and sold by Amazon. Seeing the different sales and pricing was the main feature that brought me to this website. Looking at the sales now, you click the link to take you to Amazon, find out it's a Fulfilled By Amazon price, then check the price Amazon has it for...it's really added a lot more steps to the shopping process and has become quite time consuming. I really hope turning off FBA pricing can become an option. Please, please make it an option. Thank you. |

I try to only buy directly from Amazon.ca and avoid "fulfilled by" whenever possible.Same reason as you.I also dislike the fact that they don't include packing slips anymore.Seems like Amazon.ca is moving to the dark side;bad Amazon bad!

I noticed that about the slips. Future Shop isn't including them anymore either, if you order online.
I also thought of another reason it would be nice to have the ability to turn on/off Fulfilled By Amazon pricing: price matching. Certain Big Box Retailers will price match Amazon prices, but ONLY if the product is shipped and sold by Amazon. They will not touch Fulfilled By Amazon prices. I'm not sure which retailers price match Amazon in the US, but in Canada, Future Shop does and Walmart (YMMV). |

I'm in the process of making myself a list of Canadian sites that offer movies and music so I can limit my use of Amazon.ca.I was completely satisfied with Amazon until they started making these changes which are not improving my shopping experience.
In the last 3 years I have spent 10's of thousands of dollars on Amazon.ca and have huge wish lists that I am always ordering from.Amazon will lose my business but apparently they don't care.I have spoken to them and was assured I would continue to get packing slips but they lied. I also spend more time making sure what I purchase ships from and sold by Amazon,just something I have to be more aware of now.I generally order in bulk so I do not want a lot of single shipments,aggravating. Like I said before,Bad Amazon Bad! |
