Saw this today in IMAX DMR. Fun times. Hopefully, given the IMAX release, this will be a Mastered in 4K BD from Sony.

This is probably Washington's best action film since Man on Fire, it's not great, and it stretches inevitability, but if you turn your brain off, it's a good time, and Washington kicks all kinds of ass in the film, which is great.

According to imdb this movie had a 2k DI so it's highly unlikely to have a mastered in 4k bd.

Just got back from this today and echo the sentiments above. Great action flick for when you just want to see death dealt to bad people and lots of explosions. Essentially an R rated superhero movie without all the usual self doubt the scriptwriters pile on.

I saw that, but then, why would Sony release it in IMAX DMR at this particular time?

On the other hand, IMDb is not the most reliable source for technical information.

For what it was I enjoyed it. Man, was he brutal! This already has a rumored bluray release date of 12/30/14.

I saw Denzel Washington's new movie and I think it was a very good movie. I think this is his best action film yet. He gets better and better.

I'd be surprised if it comes out that quick. I'm expecting an early January 2015 release for this one.

i still consider man on fire to be his best, and from the looks of it, always will.
this movie was entertaining but had a lousy third act and the direction while creative went as over the top as the premise in the third act. worth watching for denzel and action fans but there have been far better action movies in the past 5 years.

Holidays sounds about right, especially with the solid opening weekend. Sony is gonna bank on people wanting this for stocking stuffers.

Saw this Friday night, it was a good movie. A little too long and a bit ridiculous, certainly not as good as Man on Fire, but I had a good time. Might pick this up if there's a Steelbook, but otherwise I can wait for a $9.99 or under price drop.

One of the better TV adaptations. Thumbs up for the enhanced violence... Not sure Woodward would have approved of the brutal nature of that violence, mind you.

It was ok. It took the basic premise from the tv show and made it a gory action film. Maybe the sequel will do more. Add Control, Mickey, his son etc.
