I personally didn't like it all that much. So cheesy and contrived. I like Chloe, but I'm not sure these teen romance movies are her strong suit.

The more I reflect on this, after seeing it twice in theaters, this more I admire it for just... really working. I think it succeeds where other similar titles like TFioS or The Incredible Now very much didn't. I feel like there's a sincerity to it.

The Spectacular Now was way better than this film but this film was way better than TFIOUS.

I really liked this but the two leads were just awful. Thankfully the supportin cast made up for it. Moretz and whatever the guys name should not have gotten the lead. Still good nonetheless. Maybe I'll pick this up used for cheap down the road.

Personally, I thought this was a weaker film than Fault. I was not invested in the love story at all, making it a bit of a bore. I'd recommend a rental before purchase.

As for the movie, one of the odd things I found about it was that she feels like a complete outsider and ashamed of her love for music at times because she's not into rock music like her family. Forget that they are really cool, understanding, and totally supportive and loving of her. Hahaha.

Then again, she's a teenager, and most of the times, teenage emotions make zero sense.

The worst movie i have seen this year so far !!

The beginning starts with a great promise, great acting and everything else... then it stop and it's 2 ''similar'' stories that are both equally boring with too much singing and the beat goes more slow with the time... i stop it after an hour the 1st time, than i give it his chance again because Chloe Grace Moretz is pretty good but no, this is more boring with the time... sadly !

See I found that one to painfully obnoxious, especially when the main characters spoke. This one I found the characters to be tolerable, even likable. That was the biggest difference for me. I also liked the themes of family, music and community. It didn't hurt that it went places I didn't expect it to go, and also had supernatural elements.
