Default Worst transfers since 2010

Most films shot in the digital modern era we live in today look strong when they are transferred to BD, but can everyone think of films made from lets say 2010 onwards, that for whatever reason, don't look so good?

Transcendence (look great in cinemas, ee and dnr ruin the blu-ray) and Pacific Rim in 3d has a vertical disparity on blu-ray that makes it unwatchable for myself.

Can't say that I know of any, when I see a film in the cinemas, I can say with 99% certainty that it's going just as good on Blu-Ray. It can also depend on ones equipment as well, how well calibrated it is and such, on how a new transfer looks. There is also another factor to consider as well, whether the movie is shot on digital or 35mm, and I know that some people go nuts when they see film grain on their monitors at home. While they don't show film prints at majority of the theaters these days, some directors still choose to shoot their films on 35mm.

That isn't really an issue with the transfer though is it.

Also if we are talking audio and not just video we can immediately include every blu-ray that for some silly reason clips the bass (Tron Legacy comes straight to mind).

Dredd 3D's combined 2D/3D disc doesn't come off lightly.

Get the French release for seperate discs and better quality.

The German release of John Carpenter's Vampires has to be the worst I've seen based on the screencaps. The DVD looked much better.

This, I can't believe I didn't mention it. The french edition is very nice though.

He's asking about films shot or produced from 2010 onwards-not transfers of older films released since then.

I'll add Rob the Mob to the list, which was transferred to blu-ray in an incorrect aspect ratio (1.78 versus the 2.39 in which it was shot). This just seems inexcusable in 2014. Hopefully someone releases an English friendly version in the correct AR in another territory.

Any BD that crams 3D and 2D versions of a movie that's longer than 1 hour. (Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs; Dredd; Piranha 3D; Priest; Resident Evil: Retribution; Underworld: Awakening)

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (banding and low bit-rate compression due to cramming the movie and extras on one BD)

Mission: Impossible -- Ghost Protocol (white specks, some people see banding; this goes for both the regular retail and Best Buy Exclusive versions)

Rob the Mob (altered aspect ratio)

Transcendence

Vehicle 19 (cropped aspect ratio; supposed to be 2.40:1 but 1.78:1 in the US)

Wow. That's awful. It's censored too.

I think this was more the digital filming process because the Japanese BD, which puts the film and extras on separate discs doesn't do much for the banding.

Did you get the Japanese set? I can't justify the cost, though having both versions would be nice.

So much is done digitally at subsequent stages, though. Green screen, CGI, DI, etc.

1979 version of "Dracula" is looking pretty bad since they drained all the color out yet the film was shot and lit for color not black and white so a lot of detail is lost when you drain out the color (plus it's not pretty)

The OP is asking about movies made within the past four/five years.
